Dallas Women Prank Call Men Asking Them To “Drive The Dallas Stars Zamboni” During Texas Snow Storm

snow prank dallas

A good prank is so hard to come by these days. The annual Dallas-Forth Worth Metroplex winter storm is here. Each year, DFW gets a mix of ice, snow, and freezing temperatures, and everyone holes up like it's the end of the world. Northerners love this time of year because it's the one time they can prop their feet up and be so glad they know how to handle the snow, unlike us unprepared Texas residents who are just praying the power grid doesn't go out like it did in Febuary of 2021. Snow is falling especially hard in northern parts of DFW, so most people are holed up in their homes, cooking soup, watching the news or new shows (if you haven't started Landman, this is your sign), or working to pass the time during "Dallaksa." https://twitter.com/DallasTexasTV/status/1877392574526140578 But as we know, there is only so much you can do without leaving your house, leading to boredom during the winter storm. And before you suggest we get out there and sled like regular folks during a snowstorm, please inform me of any hills you might see in the metroplex...it's pretty damn flat out here. (Generally speaking.) So, some young adults are getting creative and using the old *67 for prank calls. Two Dallas women are gaining social media attention for their prank call, searching for men to volunteer to help during the snowstorm. Using an automated voice message, they dialed up men for a draft-style prank call. "This is the Dallas County Storm Patrol looking for male volunteers to drive the Dallas Stars Zamboni as a snowmobile tomorrow morning. If interested, press one."  The two girls are trying to keep it together as they laugh, hearing the reaction of the two men who pick up the phone. One man was silent on the other line while the other man enthusiastically said: "I'm in!" While the prank call was perfectly executed, I can't stop laughing at the man who was game for volunteering because a Zamboni makes things slick versus clearing up the road like a standard snow plow does in a storm. You know this man heard Dallas Stars and was game no matter what versus listening to what was being asked... too good. While a Zamboni does have a feature to "shave" some of the ice, the other parts of the vehicle use the shaved particles to fill in the rough patches, thus making a smooth surface. Its purpose is defined as: "The same basic principles still apply to ice resurfacing. The re-surfacer needs to wash the ice, shave the ice and leave behind a layer of fresh ice making water." But you can't expect folks from Texas to know the difference between snowmobile, snow plow, and Zamboni. Hell, mention a "salt truck" and you might just blow their mind. Nevertheless, the prank call was pretty hilarious:

Flawlessly executed, and the comments were just as good: "Help do a part two." "The way I thought they’d be hitting the button like crazy, and I’ 'm just like." "Hello?! I would take that offer up IMMEDIATELY." "Men used to go to war, and no, they won’t even step up to drive a Zamboni." "Where do I sign up?" "This is too good omg." "Zamboni? Like the thing that makes the ice MORE slippery?" "This is so funny. 'I’m IN.'” "Nobody wants to fight for Dallas." "I need 4 hours of footage of this like I need air to breathe."
