Remember the scary story back in March that featured a semi-truck dangling off a bridge that connects Kentucky and Indiana? In case you need a refresher, the Clark Memorial Bridge (also known as the Second Street Bridge) in Louisville was the scene of a situation that you normally only see in the movies. The images and videos spread like wildlife on social media a couple of months ago, because its not everyday that you see an 18-wheeler fortunately hanging onto a bridge for dear life. https://twitter.com/ORussellNews/status/1763617395443175758?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1763617395443175758%7Ctwgr%5Ea81244121f1c3ba341e1d2fac3036a9f7c105454%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2024%2F03%2F01%2Fwatch-heroic-first-responders-rescue-truck-driver-dangling-over-bridge-in-kentucky%2F All eyes were on the Indiana-Kentucky connector, and miraculously, disaster was averted as an emergency rescue team was able to quickly respond to the scene. They were successfully able to lower down a person to help assist the dangling driver out of the unsafe semi-truck and back to the safety of the bridge. The harrowing rescue was caught on camera and was streamed live on a number of major news networks: https://twitter.com/Patriot_45_/status/1763624687379058870?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1763624687379058870%7Ctwgr%5Ea81244121f1c3ba341e1d2fac3036a9f7c105454%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2024%2F03%2F01%2Fwatch-heroic-first-responders-rescue-truck-driver-dangling-over-bridge-in-kentucky%2F It's almost unbelievable that the driver of the truck was able to escape that scary situation. And we're now finding out more on how that all unfolded thanks to dash cam footage from the very semi-truck that ended up dangling dangerously over the Ohio River. As you'll see in the clip below, it doesn't look like the driver of the 18-wheeler could have done much to avoid the wreck, which started because of another vehicle (that had been hit from behind by a truck) that came across the middle line and ran into the larger vehicle. The footage was shared by a traffic anchor that works for WAVE 3 News in Louisville with the caption: "This is dash cam video from the crash that led to a semi truck dangling over the edge of the Clark Memorial Bridge. You can see a pickup truck hitting a stalled vehicle, then swerving into oncoming traffic." https://twitter.com/ORussellNews/status/1790763980010504423 Holy smokes... Hopefully watching that didn't worsen or create a fear of bridges for you. That's just one of those wrong-place-at-the-wrong-time moments, and it's a miracle that things turned out the way they did.
