3 Guys Pull Off Their Best Buddy The Elf & Float Down River On Chunk Of Ice

Floating on ice

So what's the game plan here, eh? I don't know what I'd do if I was walking by an icy river and saw something like this. I'd imagine it would take a double take (and probably some rubbing of the eyes) to finally accept that I was seeing three men hitching a ride down the river on a chunk of ice. This video is believed to be out of Novosibirsk, Siberia - a city in Southern Russia. It's also a couple of years old, but it's going viral once more thanks to a post from the popular Instagram account "Tourons of National Parks." It's one of those situations where it's not new... but it might be new to you. I hadn't ever seen it until it was posted a couple of days ago. In the clip that was recently posted, the main title theme from the 2003 film Elf was overlaid on the footage (which is a fitting touch). When you seek out the original video, you're actually able to hear a back-and-forth conversation in the Russian language. The man on the bank yells down to the guys as they are floating by, and they exchange these words: Person Filming: "What’s up, boys, bus tickets got too expensive? Are you sailing to Novoboydaevka?" Guys on Ice: "No, to Novosibirsk." Person Filming: "Where is the next stop?" Guys on Ice: "Wherever we arrive!" Nothing like a "float down the Ob river aimlessly with the boys" day, am I right? I'm almost jealous that they're having such a good time, even though they are doing something rather dangerous. They're putting a lot of trust in that flat piece of ice. It's too bad they didn't have a couple of ice cold brewskis for the road river ride. Check it out: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DEan1SDv_4Y/?igsh=MWNmbHhrY3Y4ZmZrbg%3D%3D Just legendary stuff right there. Hopefully they had a plan to get back to wherever they departed from. Mother Nature might have allowed them to hitch a ride down river, but they'll have to utilize... more normal transportation to get back. Some social media users online commended the bro trio for finding a very efficient way to travel, while others suggested that the guys weren't all that smart for putting their trust into an traveling iceberg: "I wanna know how this started and I want to know how this ended!" "Transportation with zero carbon footprint. Bravo!" "Budget Viking River Cruise?" "Incomplete pre frontal cortex. Just saying!" "I also like to go with the flow." "Legend has it, they're still floating down the river to this day!" "Three bros just living their best life." And fans of the classic Christmas movie Elf (that I mentioned earlier) know that one of the film's iconic scenes involves Buddy utilizing a broken-off piece of ice for travel purposes. Maybe the guys in the video below had just watched the Will Ferrell movie and decided they wanted to see if it was actually doable? It didn't look like there was a narwhal in sight to wish the three guys on the ice good luck, so that's a bummer. But it does give off the same vibe - especially with the Elf theme playing over the footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89tIZA2B23A
