If you thought you saw traumatizing responses from little kids meeting Santa Claus, buckle up—he's nothing compared to this little girl's reaction to The Grinch.
We've all seen videos of young kids being placed on Santa's lap for the first time and losing it. They are being handed off to a stranger dressed in a costume, getting up in their face and asking them what they want for Christmas. It's a little frightening for a young child. However, in most cases, the parents can soothe their kiddos enough to snap a picture before swiftly removing them from the Christmas icon's lap.
Given the trauma some children experience when they meet Santa, imagine the shock of meeting a large, green, hairy character—the Grinch. One little girl has gone mega-viral with her hilariously split reaction to meeting The Grinch.
It appears as though a family is in the middle of taking family pictures when they decide to surprise their daughter with one of Christmas' most recognizable characters. However, things take a turn for the worse when their perfectly posed, smiling daughter turns around to see The Grinch.
The girl begins screaming out of sheer terror as the character approaches her. The Grinch does not retreat and slowly keeps moving toward the girl, eventually sitting next to her on the couch. You'd think this child was a horror movie actress from her reaction to The Grinch, but hilariously, things take another 180-degree turn once the character sits beside her.
Suddenly, her mood completely changes as she opens her arms to embrace the character. The girl lets out a "Hello," then The Grinch takes her into his arms and poses for a picture. The girl's frown turns upside down, and she is chipper and smiley again. She takes the picture and then turns to The Grinch to let him know that she's not scared of him.
"I love you."
She says. But once again, that smiley reaction is short-lived. After being told she loves him, the masked character turns his head toward the little girl, and she screams again. During the second screaming session, the little girl reaches for her mother, and the screaming turns into tears.
I have not laughed this hard in a while. I feel bad for the child, but the massive swing in emotion is hilarious. At least she faced her fears and put on a brave face for a picture with The Grinch.
