![Texas Man Dines With His Horse At Upscale Mexican Restaurant]()
![Texas man horse dinner]()
Date night with me and my... horse?
They say, "Everything is bigger in Texas," but that saying might need to be changed to "Anything goes in Texas." A Dallas man took his fine dining experience to the next level when he invited a very special guest, but this guest was not someone famous; it was one with four legs.
The man brought his horse to an upscale Mexican restaurant. Before Thanksgiving, Michael Duncan took his horse, Ranger, to Mexican Sugar, a swanky restaurant in Uptown Dallas. The hip restaurant serves modern Latin dishes with a relaxing, laid-back vibe, complete with craft cocktails.
I've dined at this restaurant before, and it's a solid spot, but I can't imagine a horse being at a place like this. Not only is the restaurant in the middle of a plaza-type situation, but it's also right next to downtown Dallas, which makes one think, "How the heck did he get this horse here? Where do they keep the horse when they are not dining? Where did he park a horse trailer?"
"Texan man was spotted enjoying upscale Mexican cuisine with his horse in uptown Dallas on Monday. Social media videos show the horse, Ranger, and his human pal, Michael Duncan, enjoying a chilly Texas night out at Mexican Sugar. Ranger towers over the table for two while the pair waits for their drinks to arrive."
Sure enough, the video shows a horse standing politely next to his seated owner as they wait for their orders to arrive at the table. The large black horse is outfitted in a cowboy hat and looks completely unphased by the exotic outing.
"Ranger wears a sleek, black cowboy hat atop his head, possibly to add to the illusion that he’s indeed older than age 21 — because, yes, he has a fake ID. His hat contains a golden sheriff’s badge, but we won’t get into the ethical implications of that."

As someone who owns horses, I think even the calmest horses I've ever known would still not be as well-behaved as Mr. Ranger.
Michael Duncan and Ranger are legends for this and shout out to Mexican Sugar for accommodating this unlikely restaurant guest. Next time you find yourself in Uptown Dallas, maybe look twice around you to see if you see Ranger and his owner dining.
