![Pat McAfee Falls For Fake Tweet Claiming Morgan Wallen Pledged $500k To Bail Out Tennessee Fans Arrested On Broadway]()

Can't believe everything you read on the internet.
Like many of us have done at one point or another, ESPN personality and
College GameDay host
Pat McAfee unfortunately fell victim to a fake tweet over the weekend. But unlike the rest of us, Pat was on television in front of millions of people when it happened.
It was a wild rivalry week in college football, with several games ending in brawls and upsets as teams took on their biggest rivals for a chance to make it to the conference championship, the College Football Playoffs, or just for good ol' fashioned bragging rights.
Here in Nashville, the Tennessee Volunteers came to town to take on the in-state Vanderbilt Commodores.
Now, while this is a rivalry game, it's historically been pretty one-sided. Vandy did manage to win three straight against the Vols from 2016-2018, but Tennessee came into the game having won five straight against Vanderbilt and with an all-time record of 79-32-5 in the series.
But Vanderbilt seemed to have found some magic this year thanks to quarterback Diego Pavia, who led them to a massive win over then-#1 ranked Alabama that saw
Vanderbilt fans march the goalpost downtown past the honky tonks on Broadway to the Cumberland River.

Still, the Dores were 6-5 coming into the game while Tennessee was 9-2 and eyeing a spot in the College Football Playoffs, so it would have been a massive upset if Vandy had been able to pull out yet another win over a top 5 team.
And ahead of the game, a satirical tweet began going viral claiming that
Morgan Wallen had pledged $500,000 to cover the bail for any Tennessee fans who found themselves in jail while celebrating on Broadway.
The tweet even included a fake statement from Morgan referencing his own troubles on Broadway, after the country singer was infamously arrested earlier this year for throwing a chair from the rooftop of Eric Church's downtown Nashville bar:
“I’ve had my fair share of missteps on Broadway and I just want to give back.”

Of course the tweet was just a joke, making fun of Tennessee fans and Morgan Wallen, who is himself from Knoxville and a big Vols fan. But unfortunately, Pat McAfee didn't get the joke.
On
College GameDay yesterday, McAfee referenced the tweet while making his prediction for the matchup between Tennessee and Vandy:
"I know Morgan Wallen, University of Tennessee legend, has put up $500,000 for any fines for any Tennessee fans that take the uprights and drag 'em down Broadway."

Not quite, Pat.
Of course Tennessee ended up getting the win, taking down Vandy 36-23 and likely securing their spot in the playoffs despite missing out on the SEC Championship Game. So there's no doubt their fans were celebrating on Broadway last night.
But if they ended up behind bars, they couldn't count on Morgan Wallen to bail them out.
