Loser Protestors Dragged Away By NYPD After Trying To Block The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade In NYC

Macy's parade

Get that mess out of the parade. First things first, happy Thanksgiving everybody. I hope your day is filled with good food, time with your crazy family, throwing down some bets on football and taking a nap while watching the Cowboys lose, just as the pilgrims intended. Of course for many people, Thanksgiving kicks off bright and early with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City. The annual parade has been a holiday tradition since 1924, and has grown to a massive spectacle with millions lining the streets of NYC and millions more watching at home as the giant balloons, marching bands and celebrities march through the streets on their way to Herald Square to officially kick off the holiday season. Watching the parade just feels like a tradition at this point, something to get you ready for not only Thanksgiving but the Christmas season that follows. But apparently some protestors felt the need to try to shut down the event in NYC, because these days everybody has to make everything all about themselves. The group of around 20 anti-Israel protestors took to the streets on Sixth Avenue, blocking the parade right in front of the Ronald McDonald balloon holding a sign with pro-Palestinian messages like "Free Palestine," "Arms Embargo Now" and "Don't Celebrate Genocide." https://twitter.com/BoozeBlogsChuck/status/1862141176360399224

This is actually the second year in a row that the group has attempted to shut down the parade - but it didn't go well for them. NYPD quickly tackled the group and dragged them off of the parade route, much to the enjoyment of the crowd that was lining the streets. https://twitter.com/truckdriverpleb/status/1862152308307407179 https://twitter.com/breeadail/status/1862176168956362879 It's reported that around 20 protestors were arrested, after Mayor Eric Adams threatened the disruptors following last year's protest: "I really want to take the moment to tell those grinches that believe they are going to disrupt the parade that it is not going to happen." Unfortunately the disruption will still give them the attention they wanted, but it's clear they didn't exactly win anybody to their side by trying to shut down a beloved holiday tradition. When you have the crowd in NYC booing you and chanting "USA," you might as well pack it up and go home. After you bail yourself out of jail of course. (Who am I kidding, it's NYC, the judge will let them out in an hour anyway).

But anyway, Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Enjoy the day, throw down a big parlay, and break out the nice bourbon to help you get through a halftime performance from Shaboozey during the Lions game this afternoon.
