Video Of This New England Dad Screaming At His Daughter About Microwaving A Turkey Is My Favorite Thing About Thanksgiving

It's the most wonderful time of the year... the week of Thanksgiving. This year, here in Wisconsin, it also coincides with the week of firearm season which kicked off this past Saturday on November 23rd. Few days in the woods, Thanksgiving, football, Black Friday shopping, and back to the woods... what a time to be alive. Of course, the cooking is arguably the more important aspect of the Thanksgiving celebration, one that can easily go wrong if you don't know what you're doing. These days, I find myself getting more and more involved with passive aggressive comments from the back of the kitchen. "Is that all the salt you're gonna put in?" It's backseat cooking at its worst, but we're better off for it, trust me. I’m sure just about all of us have witnessed some Thanksgiving cooking fails in our day and to be honest there's a lot that can go wrong. It's not super difficult to make a turkey, but they can be notoriously dry (pro tip: go for the dark meat, it's always juicier) and it just kind of ruins the whole meal if you're chewing on sawdust. Powdery gravy is a huge no, terrible pumpkin pie, I've seen it all... and hell, maybe you have even witnessed a family member nearly burn the house down trying to deep fry a bird for the first time. With as much food as there is on the table on Thanksgiving Day, the chances of at least one thing coming out wrong are pretty high, even probable. And it can inevitably lead to some tense family arguments in the kitchen. And this video right here is a prime example, and perhaps my favorite video in the history on the entire internet. I'm talking since the beginning of YouTube, social media and the viral video era.... THIS might be my favorite video to ever exist... it's just too good. Here we have a New England-area dad rocking the ultimate dad attire, from the mullet, the blue sweats, and the grasscutter elite series Nike Air Monarch gym shoes... it's just a hall of fame dad outfit. Even the puffy Patriots vest is perfection... you know dad doesn't wear a coat, he just "trohws" on that vest and it's off to Dunkin every morning. But dad is not having a great morning and our video starts with him absolutely losing his mind on his daughter when she calls with a classic Thanksgiving prank. It goes a little something like this: “Dad, how do I cook a turkey in the microwave” And as if the God-awful Patriots weren't enough have dad's blood pressure through the roof this Thanksgiving season (figure it out Drake Maye), commence the full blown meltdown... That thick New England accent is just incredible, and to top it all off, you have his vocal chords straining from the years of Newport smoke frying them. Screaming with that nasally Ray Romano voice about how you “thawr” it out and seasoning “tree-poun chicken”… this video is legitimately one of my top five favorite things about Thanksgiving. Every single year I watch it about 50 times... and I'm not even from Boston or Providence. Hell, I've never even been there, I don't know a single person who talks like this and yet, I come back every year to bask in its comedy glory. And the sarcastic "make sure you season it" line... I love everything about this video, from beginning to end. This is what Turkey day is all about, right? Stuffing your face with food and getting into some heated argument with a relative who only shows up when free food is on the table. Ya gotta love it. The best part, though: “I’m cawllin’ Frankie, we’re deep fryin’ the f***in’ turkey and that’s how it’s gonna be. PERIOD.” I gotta know though… who’s Frankie?
