DJ Alleges That Jake Paul & Mike Tyson Were Legally Prohibited From Going Hard At Each Other In Netflix Fight

Netflix

Some rumors can be written off as pure hearsay, but given the awful quality of the Netflix fight between the victorious Jake Paul and beyond-washed Mike Tyson, this one sure would check out. The artist known as DJ Whoo Kid, who evidently has a lot of celebrity connections, got to talking to Paul about the Tyson bout, and came away with a potential bombshell revelation. That is, legal stipulations were in place to ensure that Tyson and Paul didn't go hard at each other. "Jake Paul came in, and I talked to him. This is the problem. This is what happened: Legally, they each cannot go at each other hard. Because if Mike hits Jake Paul...Jake Paul will die. Like he's gonna die. He's gonna be dead... If Jake Paul would hit Mike Tyson, I think because of Mike Tyson's age, he'd kill Mike Tyson. So the rules were, that they gotta chill, you know what I'm saying? That's what I heard." https://www.instagram.com/reel/DCf9HAapbN-/ On one hand, let's be honest, this was probably for the best. Tyson is 58 years old, was wearing a knee brace, looked visibly winded throughout the matchup with the 27-year-old Paul, and revealed afterwards that he lost 25 pounds and nearly died in June. https://twitter.com/MikeTyson/status/1857886940097556646 On the other hand, this fight that drew 60 million households to Netflix's laggy stream brought in a lot of gambling action. While a lot of people I'm sure were just doing it for fun because of how singular this particular boxing match was, it's kind of absurd to view in the context of the alleged illegality for Paul or Tyson to try to deliver knockout blows. https://twitter.com/DavidPurdum/status/1857129711320678630 https://twitter.com/darrenrovell/status/1858544621753639400 https://twitter.com/johnewing/status/1858555769211310566 https://twitter.com/StockMarketNerd/status/1858578724884803832 Thanks in part to Tyson slapping Paul in the face at their pre-fight weigh-in and their mutual rhetoric about wanting to knock each other out, so much betting action went on things like "Under 5.5 rounds" props, each boxer to record knockdowns, or either man to win via knockout. I know at bet365 in particular, their super boost was for Tyson to record a knockdown. Stuff like that was everywhere. Not to get all conspiracy theory-oriented, but man, the sportsbooks had to make a killing off this anticlimactic poor excuse for two men to enter a ring. And Paul bet his entire purse on winning the fight — I assume via decision, rather than KO, TKO or disqualification. https://twitter.com/nypost/status/1857161924640903504 Really makes you think! Public figures are frequently applauded for broad-daylight con jobs such as this. As if viewers and/or bettors didn't already feel cheated enough by how lame the Paul-Tyson duel was. Oh well, what can ya do? These guys were the ultimate showmen and sold the s**t out of this fight. They duped and roped people in hook, line, and sinker. Was Jake Paul betting on himself, or was the figurative house #RIGGED in his favor? We may never know. Because again, this is all just hearsay and allegations about an alleged private conversation between DJ Whoo Kid and Jake Paul. Despite all the drawbacks and possible alleged shenanigans behind the scenes, Netflix's circus of a boxing showcase wasn't all for naught. We were treated to a smashing intro by the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders at their home AT&T Stadium, and ring girl Sydney Thomas no doubt made the Paul-Tyson eight rounds of agony worth enduring for many who tuned in. Oh yeah, and I'd be remiss to not mention the lasting image that perfectly summarized the quality of the main event itself: The immortal shot of Tyson's a**less chaps. I'll spare you the suffering of the full-blown Tyson rear and end with some Sydney Thomas. https://twitter.com/scubaryan_/status/1857676290247082332?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1857676290247082332%7Ctwgr%5E4db5bf45a9fb74a5f459b8b41f60932b88d5089f%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2024%2F11%2F16%2Fsydney-thomas-ring-girl-tyson-paul-fight%2F
