Jets Fans Are Begging Donald Trump To Appoint Aaron Rodgers To A Cabinet Position So They Can Move On

Aaron Rodgers

Oh, how the tables have turned. It's safe to say that the "Aaron Rodgers Experiment" in New York has not gone anything like the Jets were hoping for. Rodgers' first season with the tortured New York team could not have gone any worse. He only made it four snaps into the season before he suffered a torn achilles that ended his year with the Jets before it even got started. Though last year, Jets fans held out hope that Rodgers could beat the odds - and every medical precedent - and come back from the achilles tear in the same season. The will-he, won't-he of last year kept Jets fans interested and hopeful, and when he ultimately wasn't able to return, the focus shifted to the 2024-2025 season. And now the Jets are 3-7. Crazily enough, the New York team was in a better place through Week 10 of last season, when Zach Wilson was forced into the starting role once again and heavily criticized. With the struggles last year, there was always the built in excuse of, "Well we lost our franchise quarterback." This season, the Jets have kind of gone all in, even trading for Rodgers' longtime teammate and friend Davante Adams. And they still stink. So now, Jets fans are seemingly ready to move on from a 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers. He's shown flashes of good play throughout the 2024-25 campaign, but not enough to convince New York faithful that he's the answer to all of their problems. In fact, one of the big issues for New York throughout this year has been closing out and/or winning one score games. Ironically, they brought Rodgers in to solve that issue, and he's really only contributed to it being more of a problem. Despite his bad play, Rodgers is still adamant - at least right now - that he wants to return to play for the Jets again next season: https://twitter.com/snyjets/status/1856798301158592554 Hey, that's great to hear Aaron. Love the optimism! But if you asked the same question to New York Jets fans, many would quickly tell Rodgers to hit the road. And if he's not going to decide to do so on his own, desperate members of the "Gang Green" fanbase are hoping that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will remember that he almost tapped Rodgers as a Vice Presidential running mate. That's right. Jets fans are grasping for any hope whatsoever, and right now that hope lies within the possibility of RFK Jr. - who is rumored to be appointed as the head of the Department of Health and Human Services - and president elect Donald Trump appointing Aaron Rodgers to a cabinet position in order to get him to retire from football:
