BREAKING: Donald Trump Wins 2024 Presidential Election

Donald Trump Fox News

He did it. Donald Trump has been elected the 47th President of the United States, completing his comeback with a decisive win over Vice President Kamala Harris in what was predicted to be a razor-thin election. It's been a wild election season, which started with a Republican primary field of over a dozen candidates trying to keep Trump from becoming the 2024 nominee. But after a dominating performance in the primaries, the 45th president became the GOP nominee and was expected to face off against President Joe Biden for the White House. In the meantime, Trump was convicted of 34 felonies in New York on charges of falsifying business records - and he's also facing charges in Georgia and in federal court in Florida, something that Trump's often pointed to on the campaign trail as a politically motivated charges from Democrats and Biden. But in another surprise, Biden decided to drop off after a disastrous performance against Trump in the first presidential primary debate, handing the Democratic nomination over to his running mate. The campaign was shaken up back in July when Trump was nearly assassinated during a rally in Pennsylvania. And he's also put together a broad coalition of supporters, bringing on former Democrats Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard as top campaign surrogates, along with names like Elon Musk and endorsements ranging from former Pittsburgh Steelers Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell to country singers Jason Aldean and John Rich. Meanwhile, Harris sought to make abortion a central issue of the campaign while distancing herself from Biden, relying on celebrity endorsements like Taylor Swift and Beyonce to energize young voters. But at the end of the day, it wasn't enough to keep Trump from taking back the White House. As early returns began to roll in, it became clear early in the evening that Trump was outperforming his numbers from 2020 in swing states like Georgia and North Carolina. And he even ran up the score in Florida, where Democrats were watching to see if Trump lost support from the heavily Hispanic population. Trump also jumped out to early leads in the so-called "Blue Wall" states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, where Harris needed to win in order to keep her hopes of the presidency alive. At her election party at Howard University, Harris campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond addressed the crowd as things began to slip away to let them know that the Democrat nominee would not be speaking tonight. And then, with over 90% of the vote reported in Pennsylvania and Trump maintaining a lead of nearly 200,000 votes, it became clear that Harris wouldn't be able to make up enough votes to win the state - handing the 2024 election and the White House to former President, and now President-Elect Donald Trump. As of right now, at about 1 AM central time, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona and Nevada haven't been called yet, though Trump is leading in several of those states and is expected to win in Alaska too. Now, I've made no secret about the fact that I voted for Trump, and I couldn't be happier to see him pull it off and take back the White House. But hey, if you're not a fan of Trump, the good news is that the next "most important election of our lifetime" is only four years away. In the meantime, Trump is heading back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to Make America Great Again.
