“Jason Kelce Can Say That Word” – The Internet Has Jason Kelce’s Back After He Smashed The Phone Of A Fan Who Said His Brother Travis Was A “F****t” For Dating Taylor Swift

Jason Kelce

Don't start something you can't finish. Some trolling scum of a human being decided to poke the bear on Saturday. Jason Kelce comes across as one of those rather happy-go-lucky teddy bear personality types, but he was an absolute menace on the football field. Meet Kelce in the wrong context, or slight anybody he cares about, and you'll hit highest point possible on the F**k Around And Find Out chart real quick. This is what happened when a decidedly anti-Swiftie in Happy Valley thought it was a good idea to heckle Kelce about how his brother Travis is a f****t for dating music megastar Taylor Swift. "Hey Kelce, how does it feel your brother’s a f****t dating Taylor Swift?" https://twitter.com/jarrett_daveler/status/1852742194248962053?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1852742194248962053%7Ctwgr%5Ef2c941bb91d8be51c3a72d7c4ae33ba5f71b38d0%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2024%2F11%2F02%2Fjason-kelce-smash-phone%2F That initial video is spreading like crazy, because that little punk got what he deserved. However, there's a little segment where Kelce throws the homophobic slur back in the face of his heckler. "Who's the f****t now?" https://twitter.com/joepops_/status/1852771781599220073 Anyone using this word in the context of any sort of real-life scenario nowadays is repulsive to me. It sucks to know that in the year 2024, there are still young men out there thinking this is OK. And my personal knee-jerk reaction to Kelce's vocal rebuttal is, "Damn man, why'd you have to repeat it?" But I acknowledge that's easy for me to say from a distance, behind a keyboard, not under anywhere near the constant scrutiny and public microscope that Jason deals with on a daily basis. Who knows how many of those types of awful things he's had to hear about his brother in the past? Sure, criticism goes hand in hand with being a public figure. But Jason's level of exposure is at a whole other level now that his bro is dating Taylor Swift as part of the world's most powerful pop culture couple. With all the media obligations Kelce's chosen to take on after his NFL playing days, juggling Dad duties, and all the attention that comes with it, I don't blame him for popping off. I'd be off my rocker under those circumstances. And for the most part, much of the social media reaction about Kelce's dust-up with a fan has skewed in his defense, despite the reuse of "f****t" in his response. https://twitter.com/dvffyyy/status/1852781274886533173 https://twitter.com/maddybutsports/status/1852780287706456253 https://twitter.com/dirtbagqueer/status/1852777796117971140 https://twitter.com/Mr_McDeRmOt/status/1852781372710306193 https://twitter.com/kastle1/status/1852781647004832024 https://twitter.com/NotWahomes/status/1852783439780471027 https://twitter.com/byst/status/1852784054975844716 I could actually see a scenario where Kelce hops on the New Heights podcast to address this incident, and it turns out to be one of those brief blackout rage moments where he doesn't even know what he said in the moment. Like maybe he was just repeating the slur out loud, partially in disbelief that somebody said it to him in the first place. Side note: In an ideal world, I actually would've liked to see Kelce lay this kid out. The only risk there is he might damn near kill him, but shoot, some people just need to get lit up by a future Pro Football Hall of Fame center to scare them straight. Or at least I feel that kid ought to have had that be the consequence of his action, rather than temporarily losing a phone. Kelce still got the point across, even if his semantic execution of doing so wasn't 100% perfect. Let's focus on the positive of it all. Jason Kelce had his brother's back, and stood up for his potential future sister-in-law when somebody came from the top rope with some S Tier ignorance.
