Broncos WR Josh Reynolds “Said To Be OK” After Being Shot In The Head & Arm Leaving A Strip Club

Josh Reynolds

Some scary news coming out of the Denver area involving Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds, who was shot twice while leaving a strip club in the early hours of the morning last Friday. ESPN's Adam Schefter and multiple other outlets reported the news. Schefter included a statement from the Broncos, which stated that Reynolds only sustained minor injuries. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1849561294979940425 "Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries. Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities." 9News reported that two drivers followed Reynolds and several others as they exited Shotgun Willies, a strip club in Glendale, Colorado, and eventually opened fire. Court documents indicated that Reynolds was shot in the back of the head and in the left arm. This comes not far removed from when 49ers rookie wideout Ricky Pearsall was shot through the chest in an attempted robbery in San Francisco. Given that one of Reynolds' wounds was to his head, it's quite a miracle that he escaped with his life. Reynolds was a fourth-round pick back in 2017 and began his NFL career with the Rams. After less than one year in Tennessee, he was claimed off waivers by the Detroit Lions in 2021 and became a pivotal piece of their offense in the ensuing two-plus seasons. This offseason, Reynolds signed a two-year deal to play for the Broncos worth $9 million. The 29-year-old veteran has recorded 12 catches for 183 yards and a score thus far for the upstart 4-3 team, but has been on injured reserve with a broken finger. Denver Police have arrested two men connected to the shooting. One of them was caught on camera entering the club and was keeping an eye on Reynolds and friends, anticipating when they'd leave. The second suspect said he was helping the first one by following Reynolds and his friends due to some sort of prior dispute. Not many other details available at this time. More than anything else, it's obviously such a relief that Reynolds is still alive and, again, only suffered minor injuries from this life-threatening incident.
