Drunk Zamboni Driver In Kangaroo Costume Arrested For DUI After Crashing Into The Boards

Zamboni

If you've ever wondered if you can get arrested for driving under the influence while on a Zamboni, the apparent answer to that strange-yet-possible thought is, "Yes." At least if you are in Quebec, Canada, where this Zamboni driver got hit with a DUI after he crashed into the side of the rink. The incident took place in between two hockey games, and the driver - who was inexplicably dressed as a kangaroo - slowly ran into the boards and allegedly damaged one of the doors of the rink. And because the resurfacer was cleaning the ice to get it ready for the next hockey game, that means that there were people in the stands watching this all go down. After the Zamboni driver crashed into the boards (the one thing you simply cannot do as a Zamboni operator), one of the people that was in attendance called the police. When authorities arrived, they had the Zamboni driver do a sobriety test, and guess what? The kangaroo-costumed-man did not pass the test, and was thus arrested for a DUI. As the post from the local public security explained: "On October 21, at around 9:45 p.m., a resurfacer operator was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at Chelsea's Meredith Centre Arena. The 25-year-old man driving the vehicle had just been involved in collision between the vehicle and the rink board. The incident caused damage to a door and was witnessed by several people. The man's driver's license was suspended, and he will have to appear in court at a later date." The local police released the video of the slow-motion Zamboni crash along with the explanation of the DUI:
