![Rob Gronkowski’s Bank Account Hit $0 During His First Month In College Because He Spent All Of His Money On A Hot Tub]()
![Gronk]()
Classic Gronk.
Over the years, there have really been too many hilarious, zany, borderline unbelievable Rob Gronkowski stories. He was a prolific tight end during his playing days, but he was arguably an even better partier. And the story below that Gronk himself revealed on the
Dudes On Dudes podcast only bolsters that.
A lot of what we know about Gronk slowly unraveled during his time with the New England Patriots (and those couple last seasons where he followed Tom Brady to Tampa Bay). However, his infamous partying - and questionable decision making - started long before his NFL career.
According to Gronk, during his first month at the University of Arizona, he and his brother wanted to make sure that their pad was ripe for having a good time. So they joined together the little money they had in their bank accounts and made what some would call an irresponsible financial decision:
"I had no money in college because my brother and I, we put all our money together that was left in our bank accounts and we bought a hot tub (in) the first three weeks we were at the University of Arizona. Literally, we drained our bank accounts. They were at $0."
Hey, the bank account might be at $0, but then again... you've got a hot tub.
They say money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you and your brother a sick jacuzzi. And it sounds like Gronk ended up being rather happy about the decision. In fact, from how he describes his financial life in college, it didn't take a lot to bring the former footballer joy:
"All I needed was $15 a week and I was satisfied. It got the job done. It got me a 30-pack and it got me lunch. That's all I needed."
Gotta love GRONK.
And if you really liked hearing from Gronkowski and his former teammate Julian Edelman there, I've got good news. You can listen to the full conversation the two shared during the Dudes on Dudes podcast at the link below:
