Flooding from Hurricane Helene and approximately 13 inches of rain devastated the area surrounding Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, as well as much of North and South Carolina and Florida. And now the iconic annual site of The Masters Tournament is stepping up to help the local community.
As announced by club chairman Fred Ridley on Thursday, Augusta National is donating $5 million to the Hurricane Helene Community Crisis Fund (
link here) to aid relief efforts after the devastating natural disaster.

A longstanding institution like Augusta National making this type of extraordinary effort in the midst of such a tragedy is awesome. What else can be said? They have their own on-site interests to tend to, including severe damage to Magnolia Lane and other parts of their pristine landscape.

Tip of the cap to the leadership of Augusta National for helping out so much.
Just one thing I feel compelled to clarify: When you click on the X/Twitter Grok thread about this story, the top trending post is as follows:

Maybe stick to parodying golf and stuff, bro.
In addition to any other potential government aid I'm unaware of, the Biden-Harris administration announced today that
over $20 million in aid has gone out to Hurricane Helene survivors. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has deployed more than 1,500 workers among the 5,000 total, all dedicated to helping in the Hurricane Helene aftermath. FEMA has shipped 9.3 million meals to the impacted regions, and 11.2 million liters of water among other critical services.
Faith in government is perpetually low. It's important to recognize that a private organization like Augusta National
and the government are both getting all hands on deck to help out with Hurricane Helene.
