Caitlin Clark

Not planning on jumping in herself. Of course Caitlin Clark already has enough going on, with the rookie for the Indiana Fever setting the WNBA on fire in her record-breaking season. Clark has brought more attention to the league than pretty much any player in history, while also rewriting the record books in less than one full season so far. Let's take a look at just some of the records she's already broken:
  • WNBA record for the most 3-pointers by a rookie in a single season
  • WNBA record for the most assists by a rookie in a single season
  • Fastest player EVER to reach 350 points and 150 assists in a WNBA season
  • Indiana Fever record for most double-doubles in a season
  • Indiana Fever record for most 3-pointers in a season
Yeah, safe to say the Fever are happy they landed the #1 draft pick. Of course with her historic season and superstar status, Clark is under a giant microscope with her every move. So the internet went wild this week when she liked Taylor Swift's post on Instagram announcing her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. https://twitter.com/nosyone4/status/1833706494807695442 After yesterday's game against the Las Vegas Aces, Clark was asked about the post and whether she planned on making her own endorsement in the election. And her answer really showed off what a media pro the rookie has become: "I have this amazing platform, so I think the biggest thing would be just encourage people to register to vote... I think that's the biggest thing I can do with the platform that I have, and that's the same thing Taylor did. And I think continue to educate yourself with the candidates that we have, the policies that they're supporting. I think that's the biggest thing you can do, and that's what I would recommend to every single person that has that opportunity in our country." https://twitter.com/chloepeterson67/status/1833983682400723197 Clark's answer closely mirrors the response from Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes when he was asked yesterday about former President Donald Trump praising him and his wife Brittany: "My place is to inform people to get registered to vote. To inform people to do their own research, and then make their best decision for them and their family." https://twitter.com/shortlittlekidd/status/1833958455780278566
