Since becoming a viral meme, Welch has been doing all that she can to take advantage of her moment in the spotlight. She’s appeared on stage with Zach Bryan, partied with Shaq, and been on pretty much every podcast out there (including an awkward interview with Bill Maher). Welch has even thrown out the first pitch at a New York Mets game (an appearance that was criticized by some in the NYC sports media), and recently appeared with comedian Matt Rife at his show in Nashville. Of course many expected her 15 minutes of fame to be over by now, but Welch is clearly doing anything she can to keep it going - including launching her new podcast, Talk Tuah. The podcast, on Jake Paul's Betr Media network, dropped its first episode today. And during the interview, Welch was discussing how her life has changed since going viral - including her first time flying on an airplane. Welch took her first flight over the summer. But she revealed during the podcast that she didn't exactly know the rules before getting to the airport for the first time, and she had brought some knives with her as she tried to make her way through TSA: "It was two knives and they got confiscated... You got a little girl going out here somewhere she's never been, unarmed, you lost your fucking mind... He's like 'Ma'am what's this?' And I'm like, 'Uhh you can keep it.'" But it turns out it wasn't just knives: She also had a boxcutter (which anybody knows after 9/11...well, yeah). But luckily her manager took that one from her. So why did Hawk Tuah feel the need to keep knives on her? For protection, obviously: "I'm little, too. It's not hard to pick me up and toss me in a fucking van and scooch off with my ass. And then there I go, no more hawk tuah for you." Gotta think that with all the money she's making now she can afford to hire security so she doesn't have to carry her own knives.
