This might be the most shocking news to come out of the sports world in years.
Prepare yourself for taking on this kind of update. You might even want to sit down for this one, because I don't think anyone was ready to hear this today. But without further ado, I'll reveal the big update that has everyone in sports freaking out.
Bill Belichick has Instagram.
I know, I know... I should've prepared you
more for that news bomb. My apologies. There's just no real good way to say that the former New England Patriots head coach and six-time Super Bowl winner finally caved in and went against his stoic ways to create a social media account.

Though his account hasn't been active for that long, he's already racked up close to 40 thousand followers. And he's already gotten a few posts up, which means someone is in his ear coaching him up (for a change) on how to engage with followers.
One of the debut videos posted to his Instagram was his official message to the social media world, saying:
"Hello everyone. Surprised to see me here? Well I am too. Over the past few months, and not being with a team, I haven't had the opportunity to express my thoughts at a moment's notice. So now I'm changing that. I tried to join SnapFace, but I couldn't find it.
I decided this was a good place for me to land so I could talk to you and share what I'm up to... because there's a lot going on. So here I am! Hello InstaFace. See you soon."

The Pat McAfee Show, which he'll be a guest on every week during the NFL season. Like many people who are getting wind of Bill's social media move, even Belichick himself can't believe he's joining Instagram... or as he calls it InstaFace:
"Pat, I can't even believe I'm doing this, but I've joined InstaFace."

I don't know what to expect from this "media career" side of Bill Belichick. To be honest, I didn't even expect a "media career" out of the historically taciturn and seemingly grumpy head coach. But it appears he's turning a new leaf with social media, and I guess I'll give it a follow to see where this all ends up.
