Tampa Bay Rays Fan Gets Knocked Out By 112 MPH Home Run Ball

Twins fan knocked out

That's going to leave a mark. There's a simple rule that I have for going to baseball games in person. If a ball comes towards you, you've got to be ready to catch it. Whether you use a hat or a beer cup, or if you happen to be the type of person that brings a glove to the ball park, you've got to haul in the baseball. But catching a home run ball seems to be a more complicated task for some. It's so easy that a dog has even caught a home run ball in the outfield, but it's enough of a challenge to where a guy wearing a glove in the outfield stands took a baseball right to the dome, and said later that there must have been a "hole in his glove" (there wasn't). And below is yet another example of catching home run balls being difficult. The Minnesota Twins were facing off against the Tampa Bay Rays when one unlucky fan (could have been lucky if they had caught it) had a homer hit right towards them by Trevor Larnach. The home run was a no doubter as soon as it cracked off the bat, and in the fan's defense, it was a line-drive-dinger. The ball got over the right field wall fast, and apparently, in not enough time for the Rays fan to appropriately prepare to catch it. As you'll see in the video, they put their hands up to try and catch it, but they instead ended up catching it with their face... and presumably getting knocked out. Captioning the clip "So Long, Larnach!" seems to be a little on the nose, since the fan said "so long" to their consciousness when it smoked them right in the noggin': https://twitter.com/Twins/status/1830747993685004616?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1830747993685004616%7Ctwgr%5Eb27f565fd938f25c063aa95b50d0f4c1b1953805%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tmz.com%2F The bad news? That had to have left a nasty welp on that person's face. Not the kind of souvenir you want to go home from the game with. The good news? The Tampa Bay Rays fan ended up being okay, according to this post from a Minnesota Twins reporter who was on site when it happened. The person who got clocked in the face was apparently in "good spirits," and even got a bat and a signed ball to help ease the pain: https://twitter.com/dohyoungpark/status/1830798020016759190?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1830798020016759190%7Ctwgr%5E9d165c8e6edab05c5d9bfe3e8a8b4f05583de2a0%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Flarrybrownsports.com%2Fbaseball%2Frays-fan-knocked-out-home-run-twins-trevor-larnach%2F638551
