“Would Be The Best Feeling In the World”– Malik Nabers Wants Morgan Wallen To Wear His Jersey Someday

Malik Nabers

New York Giants rookie phenom Malik Nabers' roots are in Louisiana, and it turns out he's a massive country music fan. In fact, in a rather unfortunate turn of events, the Giants' organized team activities directly overlapped with Morgan Wallen's two-night stay at the team's home MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, back in May. The first two OTA sessions covered May 20 and 21; Wallen played those big stadium shows on May 19 and 20. Nabers wasn't about to miss the chance to get some early work in with his quarterback and fellow country music lover Daniel Jones. While it's good that the former LSU star receiver has his priorities in order, he wants to hit up a Wallen show at some point in the future with Danny Dimes. Nabers already had to turn Jones down for a Luke Combs concert — we'll tie back to Combs toward the end of this article — and hopefully they can make that happen someday. But Nabers would like the proceedings to go one step further at the next Wallen show in the greater New York City area: by having the country star rock his No. 9 Giants jersey. https://twitter.com/NFLonCBS/status/1824442964493410697 Wallen walked out in Las Vegas with the likes of Tom Brady and Mike Tyson while donning the No. 98 Raiders jersey of superstar pass-rusher Maxx Crosby. There is precedent for this sort of thing, and it'll certainly help if Nabers balls out like many expect him to in his maiden NFL campaign. Nabers was my WR1 over Marvin Harrison Jr. and No. 2 overall prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft. Although not a single meaningful game has been played, early reviews from Giants camp are raving about Nabers' explosiveness and likely status as Jones' immediate go-to guy. Not that Harrison has slouched in camp with the Cardinals, but there's little question in my eyes which dude is more dynamic after the catch. Hence my giving Nabers the ever so slight edge over Harrison in those pre-draft prospect rankings. For further proof of Nabers' affinity for country music, check out this rapid-fire singalong he did to Luke Combs' myriad of hits. The young man's instincts on the football field match up with his split-second recognition of such Combs numbers as "Fast Car", "When It Rains It Pours", "Forever After All" and "Hurricane." https://twitter.com/GiantsAgenda/status/1802910389031559184 As Darth Vader once famously said, "Impressive. Most impressive." Being on the same page with your QB on the field is critical. Can't hurt the bond between Nabers and Jones to have their music tastes so in-sync, too.
