Guys, would you rather go to a wedding or watch football?
I know for most men that's probably a stupid question. Get dressed up to spend the day hanging out with a group of people you probably don't know very well anyway, or sit on the couch in your nicest jersey yelling at the TV while demolishing chicken wings and a 12-pack? Easy decision for me.
Unfortunately, football season and wedding season overlap because of the cooler weather and better scenery in the fall for outdoor weddings, so that leaves couples with a decision: Take up a Saturday in football season, or schedule a wedding at a less-than-ideal time of year.
Ok, I'm sure most couples don't really consider football season when booking a wedding date, because I know there are a lot of other factors at play. But there are also hardcore fans out there who refuse to schedule their wedding when their favorite team is playing so they (and all their friends and fellow fans) don't have to miss a game.
For the rest of us though, we just grumble and complain that we have to miss out on one of a limited number of Saturdays a year that we get to sit on the couch for 12 hours straight and watch football.
And apparently some people aren't happy with all the complaining.
A user over on Twitter (still calling it that, sorry Elon) set off a firestorm with his opinion on the subject:

First of all Fred, I'm 36 so get it right. And it's not like I magically started hating football and loving weddings the day I turned 26. Ten years later and football is still awesome and weddings still suck so get off my nuts.

Yeah, my priority is destroying both my physical and mental health by watching my team shit the bed every fall.
Of course the older you get, the more fall weddings you're going to be invited to, so that leads to some tough decisions. But just be warned, if you schedule your wedding during football season, don't be surprised when guests are checking the score during your vows or watching the game instead of doing the "Cupid Shuffle."
