Dale Earnhardt Jr.

If you take a trip out to Ireland, you might as well make it worth your while. The country is known for it's rich history, and even richer beer. So Dale Earnhardt Jr. made sure he took it all in when he traveled there for a Irish vacation with his wife and his friend Tim Dugger - a Nashville based singer/songwriter. Dale spoke about the pub crawl they did through 100-year-old, dimly lit establishments, and even said he became a Guinness man when he was over there. But the best part of the story is when Earnhardt Jr. and his friend decided to slow things down a bit and stayed at one particular Irish pub for most of the day. The former NASCAR driver explained how things went - and his view on bar hopping - on the latest episode of the Dale Jr. Download: "We went to one pub and had lunch and dinner. We didn't even move. We changed tables, which is just as good as going to another pub, right? Listen... I don't mind bar hopping, but bar hopping can take a little bit out of you. And sometimes you get to the second or third bar and you're like, 'You know, damn, I kind of like the first one better.'" Couldn't agree more... why go somewhere else when the tabs already open and the beer are flowing like spring water? Earnhardt Jr.'s friend, Tim Dugger, jumped in to say that he originally didn't know they were setting up shop at this Irish pub, but once they "put their roots down," he and Dale threw back a ton of beer: "I thought we were having lunch and a few. I look at him and he's like, 'What's wrong with this?' What I was impressed with is we had sat there for seven hours maybe? Six or seven hours, and so when we closed out, the bartender's like, 'I'm really impressed. I'm surprised y'all can stand.' So I feel like if the Irish compliment your drinking, you've done good." https://twitter.com/DirtyMoMedia/status/1820947420873675111 Yeah... impressing the Irish with your drinking ability has to be one of the greatest compliments/accomplishments you can experience in life. I'm sure Dale puts it up there with some of best wins in NASCAR. And Earnhardt Jr. being converted from a light beer enjoyer to a Guinness man is a big deal as well.
