![Obama Team USA]()
No matter what your politics are, this is objectively amazing.
Former President Barack Obama labels himself "Hooper-in-Chief" and while some may think that's corny, there's no doubt B.O. can get it done on the hardwood. Obama was known for playing pickup basketball while he was president, and even visited college campuses to scrimmage against blue-chip players from time to time.
Obama checked in on the latest Team USA Olympic squad ahead of their 86-72 exhibition rout of Team Canada and pulled off one of the funniest stunts I've seen in a minute. This whole sequence might be more surreal to witness than Steph Curry and America's biggest stars
failing to spin a basketball on their finger.

Doesn't matter if Obama was intentional about this or not.
There's a famous
Key & Peele sketch titled, "Obama Meet & Greet", where Jordan Peele parodies Obama at one of his umpteen speaking engagements where he has to shake hands, kiss babies, etc. As you do when you're president.
The comedic twist comes when Peele enthusiastically daps up all the black people in the skit, and opts for traditional, rigid handshakes with the white folks.

For as much of a minefield as jokes about race can be, it shows how genius these gents are to pull this off with such flawless execution. The over-correction on political correctness, particularly in comedy, has led to a lot of controversy and is putting people on edge these days in circumstances where they're just trying to have a laugh.
Don't get it twisted. There are plenty of dated jokes from the not-so-distant past that don't deserve to fly today. This is not one of them.
I'm really dying to know if Obama knew what he was doing here. It was almost so uncanny that it
had to be on purpose.

Regardless, what a great way to break the ice and get Team USA ready to roll toward what should be another relative cakewalk gold medal. Not to jinx it or anything, but the general talent disparity between the USA and other international squads is, well, almost as laughable as the original
Key & Peele sketch.
