Eric Adams

If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. That's how the famous Frank Sinatra song about the "Big Apple" goes. But when it comes to modern day New York City, the song could probably use an update. If you were to ask Mayor Eric Adams, who once alluded to 9/11 when talking about what makes NYC great, he'd probably spin those iconic lyrics into something about his self proclaimed "trash revolution." You've likely seen New York City featured in movies and TV shows for years. It seems as though 90% of all media created for entertainment is based in Manhattan. And if you plan on visiting, or have ever visited the concrete jungle, you can see some of the famous landmarks that have graced the big screen for so many years. You'll also see a lot of trash. Just tons of it actually - all over the sidewalks. That's because New York City doesn't have enough alley ways for dumpster placements, so residents and businesses just dump their trash on the side of the road. And as you might imagine, doing so comes with a disgusting, smelly drawback. And rats. So Mayor Adams has decided to change the trash game by introducing a never-before-seen solution to loose trash bags. He calls it... the rolling trash bin, and they are set to make their debut all across the city. NYC's mayor made the exciting announcement earlier today, which you can view below. "Welcome to our trash revolution." https://TWITTER.com/EndWokeness/status/1810366855015526564 You simply can't hype up trash bins like that and not expect to be meme-d to oblivion. Social media was quick to jump on the cringey announcement and didn't hold back while making jokes about New York City just now discovering - or acting like they just invented - trash bins: I give that last observation an A+.
