Travis Kelce Taylor Swift culture

Yes, this is 100% real. If you remember back to last season's NFL playoffs, the Kansas City Chiefs came out with this bizarre hype video geared towards their newfound Taylor Swift fanbase. Dubbed Falling For Football, it was basically a Hallmark Christmas movie spoof, inspired by Chief's football. The Chiefs’ Twitter account shared a video with the caption: “Don’t forget just how magical the postseason can be” https://twitter.com/Chiefs/status/1745113315880153350 Dumb? A little bit, but it was funny given the fact that all these Swifties were now watching Travis Kelce and the Chiefs. And after all, it was just a spoof, right? RIGHT? Well... not anymore... they're actually running with a real Hallmark Christmas movie in the same vein. If you're anything like me, by the time fall rolls around and we start to get into the holiday season and cooler months, that also means that you're going to have the Hallmark channel on pretty much non-stop in the background of whatever you're doing at home (as long as football's not on, of course). And honestly, I'm not completely obsessed with the cheesy Hallmark movies that pretty much all follow the same storyline and concept, but I will admit that they can be fun to watch especially at Christmas. Actually, during the month of December, I think they have a new movie every day of the weekend (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) leading to Christmas, and there's on in particular that fans of Taylor Swift are going to want to tune in for. Yes, apparently the Kansas City Chiefs teaming up with the Hallmark channel to make a Christmas move called Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. While not exactly their specific story of finding love, I have no doubt their very public romance helped inspire this idea: "We are teaming up with Hallmark this holiday season for a new, original movie filmed right here in Kansas City!" According to the Chiefs, Tyler Hynes, Hunter King and Ed Begley Jr. will star in the film, which will premiere on the Hallmark Channel during the 15th annual Countdown to Christmas run sometime in December. Chiefs president Mark Donovan says they're excited to work with Hallmark on such a unique project: "We are honored to partner with Hallmark on a project as unique as this. As a club, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways to grow our brand, as well as connect with new audiences. This partnership unites two passionate fanbases and gives us an opportunity to show Chiefs Kingdom's energy and tradition on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season." They're slated to start production in July, and will film in and around Kansas City, including at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Here's a little of the plot line from TODAY: "The movie is about a woman named Alana, played by King, who hails from a family of Chiefs fans and strikes up a relationship with Derrick (Hynes), the director of fan engagement for the team. The two end up spending a lot of time together once Alana's family enters the Chiefs' 'Fan of the Year' contest. As sparks fly between them, things begin to go awry once Alana's grandfather's (Begley Jr.) loses his vintage Chiefs good-luck winter hat. Her grandfather's missing prized possession makes Alana doubt everything she believed about fate until a little Christmas magic is thrown her way." Unreal... I have no doubt the Swifties will make this Hallmark's highest-rated movie to date, though an exact release date is still forthcoming. https://twitter.com/hallmarkchannel/status/1805653086720897362
