Scottie Scheffler Wins Again Despite The PTSD He Must Have Felt As Police Rushed 18th Green To Stop Protestors

Scottie Scheffler

Scottie Scheffler can't stop winning. He also can't stop being involved with law enforcement... in one way or another. The PGA Tour pro's arrest last month at the PGA Championship in Louisville, Kentucky is now very much in the rear view mirror. You would think that getting arrested and having a child in a two months span would knock even the world's best golfer off his game, but for Scheffler, he's been as good as ever. As crazy as this sounds (and if it doesn't sound wild to you, you don't know how hard golf is), Scheffler has won 6 of his last 10 tournaments, including his win today at the Travelers Championship. The golf world hasn't seen a streak of dominance like this since Tiger Woods in the early 2000's. https://twitter.com/PGATOUR/status/1804979145706750139 Some might describe Scottie's run as "unflappable." Personally, I think that's a great way to describe the showcase of golf that Scheffler has put forth. Besides a lackluster finish at the U.S. Open (by Scheffler's standards) last week, he's been in contention - or has won outright - in almost every tournament in 2024. Even as he's juggled felonies and fatherhood, Scheffler remains consistent. And if he was going to be thrown off in some way, you would have to think it would have happened at the conclusion of the Traveler's Championship. In case you missed it, climate protestors stormed the green as the leader group finished up on the 18th hole. It made for quite the scene, and even delayed the finale of the tournament. Take a look: https://twitter.com/fairwayupdates/status/1804971300013920656 Scottie was set to putt from just off the green right as this happened. Obviously, police and tournament officials had to gain back control of the 18th green before play could resume, but social media was really only worried about one thing and one thing only... How did Scottie Scheffler, a former "felon," handle seeing police officers rush the green as he was set to play? https://twitter.com/OddsShark/status/1804970976867713519 https://twitter.com/BenJ6257/status/1804970610251923900 https://twitter.com/BaileyCarlin/status/1804974473805795471 https://twitter.com/fried_egg_golf/status/1804971197492252864 https://twitter.com/MichaelDuncan/status/1804970419067236643 https://twitter.com/JoelMBeall/status/1804970690220806169 Fortunately, the officers weren't coming after Scottie. Despite the PTSD the pro golfer must have felt, Scheffler kept his cool and two-putted for par. Shortly after, young golfing phenom Tom Kim made a birdie to force a playoff. It was really exciting! Until it wasn't. Scheffler won the sudden death playoff on the first hole, securing yet another win (and millions of dollars). The dude is as clinical as it gets working his way around a golf course, and Scheffler's recent hot streak has led to two post-win interviews while holding his not-even-two-month-old son: https://twitter.com/GolfonCBS/status/1804982814179315929 Even though he's not facing charges anymore, I'm just going to throw out a "FREE SCOTTIE" for good measure...
