The Kansas City Chiefs had their latest championship ring ceremony late Thursday night to celebrate their run as
back-to-back Super Bowl winners. Before we know it, the Chiefs will be pursuing the first three-peat in NFL history, but regardless of what happens in 2024, they'll have some incredible hardware to hang onto.
Modern championship rings are always stunning achievements of craftsmanship to me, but this new piece of jewelry for the Chiefs organization is truly next-level stuff.

You can see the detailed diagram above that shows off the rationale behind literally all 529 diamonds in each Chief's ring. The bitter Bengals bro in me wants to say,
"Isn't it a little bit, you know...much?" But at the same time, if you win the Super Bowl, dance on whomever's graves you want, aggrandize any of your trivial standalone achievements, and savor every little corner of the season you just had. I'm a tad surprised Kansas City didn't have a "been here before" mentality when it came to designing the ring, though.

Maybe the fellas will feel generous this year and leave some for the rest of us impoverished 31 NFL fan bases who'd like to see
our guys lift the Lombardi Trophy. Alas, I feel like the time to get the Chiefs was last season, when their offense was sputtering and they had a no-name receiving corps. They got the
fastest player in the draft in Xavier Worthy, along with whatever other gems GM Brett Veach unearthed that we don't know about yet.
My favorite detail in the ring beyond all the bling is actually the "Tom & Jerry" play design, which Andy Reid dialed up for
Mecole Hardman on the game-winning TD of Super Bowl LVIII.

How do these jewelry makers do it? Blows my mind every single time. The question is, who will prevent the Chiefs from doing this same damn thing at the same time next year? My guy Joe Burrow is, fingers crossed, finally going to go through a normal training camp and be ready to fire on all cylinders all season long. I don't see anyone else stepping up to challenge Kansas City and take the throne.
As much respect as I have for the greatness of legends like Reid, Mahomes, Kelce, and Chris Jones, we need some new blood! Going from roughly two decades of a Patriots dynasty straight into this!? Come on!
