Reds fan

You've at least got to respect the dedication. Last night during the Cincinnati Reds-Cleveland Guardians game, a fan ran on the field and absolutely lit the internet on fire by backflipping directly into a security guard before being tasered in front of 34,000 people at Great American Ball Park. You've probably seen the clip already but in case you haven't, let's roll the tape. https://twitter.com/YountsChase32/status/1800710192201699817 Beautiful shot: https://twitter.com/JoeKinseyexp/status/1800842038419890405 The man in question is 19 year old William Hendon, a current sophomore at Ohio State and resident of Cleves. He taken into custody on a felony charge of criminal trespass and a misdemeanor of obstructing official business. He spent the night in jail and this morning appeared in front of Municipal Court Judge William Mallory for his arraignment hearing. Apparently no one came to visit because he showed up in his Tuesday night best; the same Johnny Bench jersey he was arrested in. https://twitter.com/JomboyMedia/status/1800938488499474684 I get that being held overnight is not actually a jail sentence but man, I would have thought one of his boys would have brought in a shirt and tie to at least help the kid plead for some leniency. The judge did show some mercy and even appeared to compliment him (in a way) about his new found fame. According to Cinncinatti.com, the judge said: "You're a star, Mr. Hendon, you got your 15 minutes of fame... Everybody thinks you landed that backflip" To which Hendon replied: "I'm pretty sure I did" Like I said, you've got to respect the commitment. Hendon pleaded not guilty and the judge reduced the felony charge to a misdemeanor and allowed him to leave under his own recognizance. He's due back for a pretrial hearing on July 3rd and has been banned from Great American Ball Park. Was taking a taser in the back and being banned from your favorite team's stadium worth it for a bit of virality? Probably not, but hey, it sure kept things interesting in the news cycle this week.
