It's always great to see a lifelong sports fan finally revel in their team's success. However, when that "lifelong fan" has only been alive since 2011, the description of lifelong hits a little different. A lifelong, 65-year-old New York Jets fan has gone through a lot more strife than a lifelong, 13-year-old Florida Panthers fan. But because the term "lifelong" is subjective, it still means that this young hockey has been waiting his whole life to see the Ice Cats win a Stanley Cup. And boy-oh-boy is this kid Ethan ready to celebrate. The South Florida NHL team (doesn't make much sense, does it?) has jumped out to a 1-0 series lead over the Edmonton Oilers, who you probably only know of because one of their fans recently became a viral sensation after she flashed the crowd in celebration. She has certainly gotten a lot of attention as of late, but I'll go ahead and say that this 13-year-old should become just as popular after this certifiably electric interview. He was ecstatic that his favorite hockey team got the first win of Stanley Cup Finals, even with a boot on his foot from an apparent lower extremity injury. That wasn't going to slow him down though, as he made evident in his TV interview: "This is a monumental moment in my life. I have been here since day one of my birth, 2011, and I just can't wait to see my team happily hoist the cup. LET'S GO!" https://twitter.com/GiselleSports/status/1799834266203037894?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1799834266203037894%7Ctwgr%5E4ae4c2a58c89e689c9dce164372e185d0ef09637%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fiframely.barstoolsports.com%2FdLjC4AB%3F_showcaption%3Dtruev%3D1app%3D1 That scream after he concluded his interview is legendary. Somebody get this kid in the Panthers' locker room for a pre-game speech ahead of tonight's game two matchup. If anyone can fire up the Ice Cats, it would be this kid. I love sports for a myriad of reasons, but this right here is what it's really all about. This is the kind of passion that fanbases all across the country strive for, and Ethan the booted Florida Panthers fan already has it as a teenager. It would be pretty cool for the kid to watch the Ice Cats win their first ever Stanley Cup, and he'd have to consider himself lucky since most fans have to wait decades to see their favorite team win it all.
