Aaron Rodgers Donald Trump UFC

Aaron Rodgers may not be on the ballot in November, but he's still getting a kick out of the political rivalries. The New York Jets quarterback was under consideration to be the running mate for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in his independent run for president. But ultimately, Rodgers turned down the VP job and decided just to stick to football, though he admits he seriously considered the offer. But since he's not out on the campaign trail, Rodgers found time this weekend to hit up UFC 302, which was headlined by a matchup between Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier. Of course his would-have-been political rival was there too, with former President Donald Trump making an appearance just days after being found guilty in New York City on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to supposed hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels. And it seems the crowd at UFC wasn't too concerned about his convictions, as Trump received a heroes welcome as he made his entrance at the fight. https://twitter.com/ufcontnt/status/1797086014663528489 But many noticed that as the former president walked to his seat, one person didn't shake his hand: https://twitter.com/_johnnymaga/status/1797091202543616346 Now, it didn't look to me like an intentional slight. Rodgers was seated, and Trump breezed right by him without stopping to shake his hand, so I'm not so sure that it was Rodgers "refusing" to shake Trump's hand as it was them not even really seeing each other. Or maybe Rodgers is just really committed to his man RFK, who knows. But later on in the evening, Rodgers did seem to get a kick out of one moment involving the former president. At one point during the evening, the crowd broke out into a "F*** Joe Biden" chant, much to the enjoyment of Trump. And as Trump raised his arm to acknowledge the crowd, Rodgers could be seen one row back from the former president laughing at the scene and trying to cover his face in what seemed like an attempt to hide his reaction. https://twitter.com/JackPosobiec/status/1797113361781412340 Of course the internet erupted, with some on the right upset at Rodgers' so-called "slights" to the former president, and some interpreting it as him enjoying the FJB chants and trying not to show too much enjoyment at the scene. Who knows...maybe the whole thing just had him regretting his decision to turn down that VP gig.
