“They Told Me If I Came Up Here, I’d Get Tased”– Travis Kelce Jokes During Chiefs’ White House Visit

In case you forgot, the Kansas City Chiefs won the 2024 Super Bowl. For Chiefs fans, they can't be reminded of that enough. For all other fans, I think it's best to just sum it up as, "We get it." We know the Kansas City Chiefs are historically good (despite having a lot of players that have run-ins with the law), and we know that Mahomes, Kelce and Andy Reid together make Super Bowl magic. And today was the big day where the NFL's reigning champion visits the White House. You'd think the Kansas City Chiefs would be getting tired of visiting the nation's capital at this point, but they still ended up making the trip. Many were excited to see if Travis Kelce's incident from last year would be addressed during the proceedings. Fast forward to this year, Kelce was actually invited back up to the podium by President Joe Biden. Ol' sunglasses-wearing Joe was about to wrap up his celebratory speech when he joked about having Taylor Swift's boyfriend come up to say a few words: "I'd have Travis come up here, but God only knows what he'd say. Travis, come here." Kelce, doing what any normal person would do, listened to the President's request and walked up to the microphone. Biden hit him with a classic "it's all yours pal," and Travis took advantage of the opportunity, saying: "My fellow Americans... it's nice to see you all, yet again. I'm not going to lie, President Biden, they told me if I came up here I'd get tased so I'm gonna go back to my spot." It was a funny moment, and good callback to the infamous video from last year. But it wasn't the funniest thing that happened during the ceremony... At one point, the Kansas City Chiefs gifted an authentic helmet to the President, and Biden actually put it on before the event wrapped up. President Biden then tried to say something into the microphone while he had the helmet on, but it appears it had already been turned off before he got up there to say something.
