Not in his “Glory Days” anymore, eh?
Bruce Springsteen recently went full 2003 Dixie Chicks, blasting Donald Trump and his administration during a concert in…Manchester, England.
The heartland rocker and his E Street Band recently kicked off their The Land of Hope & Dreams Tour, and in front of a full crowd of Brits, the rock star went on a rant against the current state of the America:
“In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration…
The majority of our elected representatives have failed to protect the American people from the abuses of an unfit president and a rogue government. They have no concern or idea of what it means to be deeply America. The America that I’ve sung to you about for 50 years is real, and regardless of its faults, it’s a great country with great people. So we’ll survive this moment.”
Of course it’s no surprise that Springsteen isn’t a fan of Trump. He’s long been a supporter of the Democrat party, and endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election while calling Trump “the most dangerous candidate” of his lifetime.
But apparently Trump isn’t a big fan of The Boss either.
The president is currently overseas on an historic trip to the Middle East, which is taking him through Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. But even as he’s busy signing trade deals, negotiating ceasefires and getting gifted massive airplanes, Trump still had time to respond to Springsteen’s recent comments.
In a post on Truth Social, the president called the rock star “highly overrated” and said that he’s never been a Springsteen fan:
“I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States. Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country.
If I wasn’t elected, it would have been GONE by now! Sleepy Joe didn’t have a clue as to what he was doing, but Springsteen is “dumb as a rock,” and couldn’t see what was going on, or could he (which is even worse!)? This dried out “prune” of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just “standard fare.” Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!”
Trump isn’t the only one who had harsh words for Springsteen after his comments. During an appearance on Fox News, longtime Trump supporter Kid Rock also called out The Boss for presenting himself as a working-class hero despite the fact that he’s a multimillionaire rock star:
“Bruce Springsteen’s another one of these liberals who has mountains of money that so desperately wants to keep his good standing in the eyes of Hollywood and the elite, but plays like this working class guy. His politics are so a**-backwards. Just stay in Europe, Bruce. Have fun.”
Guess Springsteen won’t be getting the invite to the Oval Office any time soon.
