If Taylor Sheridan’s name is on it, you know it’s got to be good.
That’s how many fans of his various TV shows and movies seem to think, and it also seems to be the thought process of Hollywood executives as more and more Sheridan projects have tremendous success. Do I really need to lay out his body of work to make the point? I mean the Yellowstone brand alone is valued at over $3 billion (with a “b”). Just in case you need to see things listed out, here are some of Taylor Sheridan’s biggest and most lucrative TV shows and movies to date:
–Yellowstone
-Sicario
-1883 (Yellowstone Spinoff)
-Mayor of Kingstown
-1923 (Yellowstone Spinoff)
-Hell Or High Water
–Landman
-Tulsa King
And that’s somehow just scratching the surface. Sheridan has long been a talented director and show runner, but it’s only in recent years that the amount of total projects with his name attached have risen exponentially. Believe it or not, the man who may have single handedly revived the western drama has even more to come in this 2025 and beyond.
Many are Yellowstone related.
The Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler focused Yellowstone spinoff titled Dutton Ranch will premiere in late 2025 (between September and December), the series that will continue Kayce Dutton’s story, called The Marshals, will premiere in early 2026 (between January and April), and another anthology series in 1944 will air later in 2026. There’s also another series under the name The Madison that’s believed to be coming in late 2025 or early 2026.
And in 2027, Taylor Sheridan will partner up with a former Yellowstone spinoff star to create a story outside of the Dutton family saga. It was announced today by the Hollywood Reporter that 1923 star Brandon Sklenar – who played Spencer Dutton in the Paramount+ series – is set to lead in an action thriller called F.A.S.T., which was written by Taylor Sheridan.
The synopsis for the project reads as follows:
“F.A.S.T. concerns a former special forces commando, down on his luck after he returns Stateside, who is tapped by the DEA to lead a black op strike team against CIA-protected drug dealers in his town.”
Say less… I’m there.
Interestingly enough, Sheridan apparently penned the script for this film in the “mid 2010s,” and it was almost made around 2018 with Sheridan directing and eyeing Chris Pratt as the lead man. Shortly after momentum picked up for a theatrical release for the film, the studio labeled it as too expensive (the budget was between $60 and $70 million), and shelved it.
It was then briefly pitched around as a straight-to-streaming project (Sheridan has had plenty of success with those) before Warner Bros. Discovery finally went all in and decided to make a for-cinema movie out of it. Though it’s being reported that Sheridan will no longer be directing… that job has instead gone to Ben Richardson, who will be making his feature directorial debut (he previously directed 1923).
Pam Abdy and Michael De Luca of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group said this in a statement about the upcoming film with an April 23, 2027 release date:
“The breadth of Taylor Sheridan’s body of work is simply astounding and unparalleled in sheer excellence and consistent quality and we could not be more honored to be making this film with him. With the hugely talent director Ben Richardson behind the camera and the exceptional producing talents of Heyday Films and Bosque Ranch, we are thrilled to have such an incredible creative team bringing F.A.S.T. to the big screen.”
