Yellowstone’s Upcoming Rip & Beth Spinoff, “Dutton Ranch,” Is Set To Premiere This Fall

Wasting no time…

To me, it sorta of feels like Yellowstone is over in some ways. And well, it is…

We saw the dramatic conclusion of the flagship series back in December, bringing the Dutton story to an abrupt ending (an ending without the likes of its leading actor Kevin Costner), and while I think we would’ve all liked to see it go down differently, the ending was always gonna be… pretty much what it was. John Dutton was gonna die and the Dutton Ranch was going to return to the Native Americans. Taylor Sheridan made that pretty clear early on in the series, and then the 7 Generations prophecy of 1883 all but confirmed it.

Of course, the follow-up prequel series, 1923, seemingly threw a wrench in the whole 7 Generations thing with the conclusion of that show… another one that felt kind of abrupt. But I guess that’s how Taylor likes to do it… slow burn and then smack you in the face with it all at the end.

But while Yellowstone is done, and 1883 and 1923 are both in the books, the Yellowstone universe is just getting started.

We’ve heard all the rumbling and the rumors, the ideas they’ve had about spinoffs and the various projects in the works, but according to a new article from Bloomberg, a whole lot more is in the works, and coming sooner than you’d think. Long story short… they’re gonna keep driving this thing until the wheels fall off.

The highly-anticipated spinoff series focused on Rip and Beth has the working title “Dutton Ranch,” and since the ranch was sold off, I’m curious to see how they spin that… perhaps a new property down in Texas? But regardless of the plot, the real excitement is that they’re expecting to premiere on Paramount this coming fall, which means they should already be gearing up to start production soon. A second modern-day spinoff series surrounding Kayce Dutton has been green lit for CBS  in 2026, and both will eventually his Paramount+.

But wait, there’s more… the previously announced spinoff series The Madison, which some fans think might be connected to a certain storyline from 1923, is expected to premiere later this year on Paramount+ and a 3rd prequel series, 1944, is also on the way… I’d guess next year for that one but who knows.

All of that to say… while it may feel like the Yellowstone universe is coming to an end, it is absolutely not.

And from a business standpoint, Sheridan’s deal with Paramount isn’t up for a couple more years so whether he sticks with Paramount remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure… everybody in Hollywood is gonna be throwing a big bag of money at him.

Get excited.
