“Publicists Act In A Professional Manner” — Bill Belichick’s Daughter-In-Law Slams Jordon Hudson For CBS Interview

I’ve been waiting for someone in the family to say something publicly… I can’t imagine they’re loving this whole circus at all.

Yesterday, Bill Belichick released a statement via email from his employer, the University of North Carolina, on the recent, and extremely viral, CBS Sunday Morning interview where Jordon made national headlines over the weekend.

During the televised conversation, Bill’s much younger girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, sat off to the side and watched intently as Bill was questioned about a wide array of topics. When interviewer Tony Dokoupil asked how the couple met, which has already widely been covered, Hudson quickly chimed in from off camera to shut it down:

“We’re not talking about this.”

It was an incredibly awkward moment that seemed to catch the interviewer off guard, and when Dokoupil asked about the photos of their relationship that Hudson shared on social media, Belichick didn’t seem interested in discussing that either:

“I’m on some of those social media platforms, but I honestly don’t follow them.”

She also reportedly stormed off set at one point and caused a 30-minute delay, which is probably the most unprofessional thing you could possibly do in an interview like this:

There’s a 48-year age difference between the 73-year old coach and the 24-year old former cheerleader, who reportedly met on a flight a few years ago and kept in touch after striking up a conversation. She previously claimed that they met on a flight in February of 2021, while Hudson was a student at Bridgewater State University. TMZ reported back then that Belichick approached her after noticing she was reading a textbook on Deductive Logic and signed it with his Super Bowl victories… what a flex.

And she’s apparently even helping Belichick out in his new job, as recently-released emails showed that Belichick had asked UNC staff members to copy Hudson on emails to him so she could help the team out with social media, and Hudson expressing her concerns with comments about their relationship on the team’s social media posts. Hudson has also been spotted helping out at UNC football practice, which led to a lot of comments – and some concerns from Tar Heel fans (I’d be seriously concerned if I was a Tar Heel fan).

It’s just a weird situation all-around, and the fact that she’s now being put in charge of his business ventures seems like an absolutely horrible idea to me. I mean, she reportedly filed a trademark for him called “Trail of Salty Tears.” Who in the world signed off on that? Insane… And honestly, the statement he released yesterday doesn’t clear anything up, either. Bill pretty much just defends Jordon and claims there was an agreement beforehand that the only questions would be about his book, though I find that very hard to believe, and CBS released a statement saying they agreed beforehand, via his publicity (who wasn’t actually there) that it would be a wide-ranging interview, as is typical for these types of segments, so I’m inclined to believe them.

But the people we haven’t heard from throughout this entire saga are any of Bill’s three kids and other family, and I have to think they’re probably not loving this whole thing, but who knows… though judging by his daughter-in-laws response to a clip from the Dudes on Dudes podcast, Jen Belichick seems to agree with the rest of the world in terms of Jordon’s outrages behavior during the interview.

Dudes on Dudes is hosted by former Patriots teammates Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman, who both played for Bill, and they defended the relationship and obviously are on Bill and Jordon’s side about the whole thing for the most part. Even comedian Nikki Glaser agreed with Edelman in terms of how harsh people are being, saying:

“100% this. She’s acting as his publicist. Publicists do this during interviews. People are out for blood.”

Jen Belichick, who is married to Bill’s son Steve (who is the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for UNC this season) replied to Nikki’s comments, slamming Jordon for being unprofessional and storming off the set:

“Publicists act in a professional manner and don’t ‘storm’ off set delaying an interview.”

She’s totally right, and now I can only imagine how awkward Thanksgiving might be this year if Bill and Jordon are still together, though I’m highly doubtful of that at this point… but dang, the fact that the family is starting to speak out like this tells me there’s definitely a whole lot more to the story and it’s unraveling pretty quickly.
