Throwback To Oklahoma Woman Being Reunited With Her Dog In Tornado Ruins

Spring means tornado season, and it might just be me, but it feels like quite a few rotations have touched down this spring and wreaked havoc across the United States. A tornado of any capacity is not only scary, but it is devastating for those who suffer loss from the destruction of Mother Nature. While some things that a tornado takes can be replaceable, the loss of a pet during a horrific storm is devastating. In 2013, after a tornado swept through Oklahoma City, an elderly woman thought she had lost her pooch in the eye of the storm. But as she was being interviewed, recalling what she felt during the storm, she was surprised to hear the news anchor spot her four-legged best friend. At the end of her interview, the news anchor saw a tiny bit of movement from the corner of her eye. Under the ruins of her flattened house, she spotted a dog pinned underneath wood and other scraps. With panic in her voice, the news anchor told everyone around her she saw a pup, and as soon as the elderly woman turned around, she knew it was her companion. "Oh...bless your little titty heart." She says to it as she starts to move the debris so the dog can wiggle free. As soon as you hear the woman say this, you can't help but choke up. You know she feels joyful that she didn't lose her animal during the storm, but there is concern in her voice as she hopes he is all okay. After she gets the dog out of the debris, she looks at the camera and says that God answered both of her prayers after the storm hit. "Well, I thought God only answered one prayer to let me be okay. He answered both of them because this was my second prayer."  Instant tears. Moments like this remind you how lucky we are to have pets that act as family members.
