Almost 104 years old and still kicking hard enough to support the president.
A World War II veteran named Denver Moore has been living on this planet since Warren G. Harding was presiding over these United States, but it’s going to take more than the passage of time to slow him down.
Though he currently lives in a senior living facility south of Cleveland, Ohio, Moore was once a fireman, US Postal Service worker, and member of the Army Air Corps that proudly served in WWII after being drafted. His 104th birthday is coming up on May 15th and he’s having a party at a local veteran affairs club on the 17th. While his friends and family will sure to be in attendance, he’s hoping his favorite president, a vocal supporter of veterans and military members, will make the trip to celebrate with him.
A family friend posted a video of Denver Moore, wearing a MAGA hat, inviting President Donald Trump to his birthday party and as you may expect, it’s gone viral:
“President Trump, my name is Denver Moore and I’m gonna be 104 in May and I’m inviting you to my birthday party the 17th, here at Canal Fulton. I’m living in a rest home called Danbury and I got to vote for you again and I hope I [can] vote for you some more.”
Allison Dudley, who was filming, then chimed in:
“He’s a World War II veteran, Army Air Corps, you should come and visit him, he wants you here for his birthday.”
@allyd2559 President Trump come celebrate Denver’s 104th birthday on May 17th in Canal Fulton Ohio #military #WW2 #goal #PresidentTrump #fyp
I can imagine this began by Denver saying “Hey, send a video to Trump on those interweb Tacky-Tucks of yours” and Allison doing it just to make him happy, but the video has since gone viral. It’s still a long shot that Trump will see it or attend but I sure hope he at least gets a video message out to him. I can’t imagine how happy it would make the guy.
News5 Cleveland picked up on the story and went to interview Denver, who I have to say is really with it for being so up in years. He added:
“It’d be nice if he comes to my party… It’s a wonderful country. I’m glad God gave us the United States.”
So far there’s been no response from Trump but there’s still time for him to carve out some time in his schedule to honor one of the few remaining WWI Vets.
