Men everywhere can rejoice knowing that Sydney Sweeney is still on the market after her split from fiancé Jonathan Davino.
There has been quite a bit of speculation surrounding Sweeney’s relationship status after she and her fiancé of seven years called off their wedding. While Sweeney deleted images of herself with Davino on her social media accounts, sources close to the couple have said that they aren’t calling it quits yet.
“Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split. Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.”
But Sweeney’s actions say otherwise. She’s been posting thirst traps on social media (not that that’s anything new) and recently flew to Dallas for Glen Powell’s sister’s wedding. The Anyone But You co-stars were spotted having dinner together at a popular Dallas Tex-Mex restaurant called Joe Leo on Friday, looking comfortable next to each other at the bar.
“Plz keep me anon, but Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney are at a rehearsal dinner seemingly together at a Mexican restaurant in Dallas (Joe Leo) as we speak.”
On the gossip page Deuxmoi, several “tips” said that they were also spotted at Park House, followed by Sweeney attending brunch with his family the following day (Powell’s absence) at Hudson House.
While men who thought they had a chance with Sweeney after she was back on the market were heartbroken to see she might have been swooped up by Glen Powell, fans of their hit rom-com were loving this moment as the plotline of the movie was potentially coming to life. A real “life imitates art” moment, for sure.
Fans who were hoping to see Powell and Sweeney together after rumors swirled that they were having an affair on the set of Anyone But You were living for this moment.

(@stylesgala) However, that fantasy of these two highly attractive people getting together was crushed when Glen Powell’s mother entered the chat. Initially reported by Daily Mail, Powell’s mother, Cyndy, told the outlet that speculation about these two being in a relationship was “silly.”
“They’re definitely not together.”
According to Cyndy, Powell’s little sister is very close to Sweeney, which is why she was extended an invitation to her wedding in Dallas over the weekend.
“We love Sydney. We’ve considered her just a really, really good friend. We all were together so much, and we haven’t seen her in a long time. She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her.”
Powell’s mother also clarified that Sweeney was not there to be Glen’s date and that she RSVP’d a long time ago, bringing her best friend as her plus one amid her breakup. Cyndy also suggested to the media outlet that the possibility of romance has sailed between Powell and Sweeney, and they are just good friends.
I’m still adopting the “never say never” motto in this moment because I would love to see these two together.
However, for all of the men celebrating her singleness, who were then heartbroken seeing her with Glen Powell, and began celebrating and sending DMs again as they are not together.
If you’re going to shoot your shot, now’s the time, fellas.
