An absolutely disgusting and unimaginable act.
Alison Agatha Lawrence, a 57-year-old Florida woman, was arrested after she reportedly drowned her own dog and discarded of the deceased pet’s body in a trash can inside the Orlando International Airport. It’s believed that she took her white poodle into a bathroom and drowned it in the toilet after she was told she’d be unable to board her flight with the dog.
The pooch apparently didn’t have the proper paper work to board the plane, and Lawrence allegedly chose to extinguish the life of her pet rather than calling for a friend or family member to come and pick up the dog. This all happened back in December, and the Orlando Police Department has just now released photos of the woman and her pet shortly before she took it into the airport bathroom.

According to the authorities that have investigated the incident, a janitor later found the dog’s body inside a trash receptacle and informed airport officials – who then passed along the sickening news to the Orlando Police.
To be clear, small animals are allowed to travel in the cabins of aircrafts as long as proper paperwork is provided for them and they are secured in a carrier. They still have to be screened by the TSA (they are often swabbed for explosives), and it’s believed that the Florida woman was turned away at the Orlando International Airport’s security screening area.
Soon after Orlando Police caught wind of the heinous act, a warrant was issued for Lawrence’s arrest. It’s still unknown where the Florida woman was traveling or when she returned, and it’s obviously unclear why she would choose to do something so drastic. This past week, Lawrence was arrested and charged with a felony aggravated animal cruelty charge.
The Florida woman posted her $5,000 bond and was released from the Lake County Jail after her arrest. If you ask me, she should have had a bond of $1 million dollars if she did the unthinkable act that she’s been accused of. Neighbors of the woman told their local news outlet that they hadn’t seen Lawrence’s pet as of late, and that they were shocked to hear that their neighbor would do such a thing.
Social media has responded to the story accordingly:
@GovRonDeSantis you need to enact much, much stronger penalties for this kind of crime. Please.

If the allegations are true, here’s to hoping the Florida woman has the hammer brought down on her for killing a helpless animal…
