Very Average Suburban Ohio Home Goes Viral For Having Club-Like Concert Venue In The Basement

Looking for a house that has club appeal rather than curb appeal? Or a bungalow that’s mosh pit ready?

No, my computer didn’t accidentally autocorrect “move in” to “mosh pit.” But I don’t blame you for thinking that. It’s not everyday that you see a seemingly normal house have a hidden, music-adjacent surprise within it’s walls. And you’d never know it looking at the house from the curb.

This home in Northfield, Ohio is currently going viral online. From the outside, it looks like your typical family home, fitted with 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. It also boasts a 5-car garage (think of how many beer fridges you could fit in a 5-car garage), a quick commute into town, and it sits on 2.03 acres. It’s a beautiful, seemingly cookie-cutter home that’s currently listed with Engel & Volkers could be yours for just shy of $625,000.

Take a look:

Pretty normal, run-of-the-mill house, right?

That’s just the main level of the house. The Ranch style home in Ohio also has a basement, and I simply don’t think you are prepared to see (or believe) what they did with it. Some people turn their basement into an in-law suite, or maybe even put in a home theater or a golf simulator. What did the former homeowners decide to do with this particular basement?

They transformed it into a concert venue and recording studio.

Now a recording studio wouldn’t be that big of a stretch. There are plenty of musicians and artists that build out portions of their home to allow for recording high-quality audio in the comfort of their own home. But it’s the fact that the studio was installed in tandem with a small concert venue (stage, sound, light production and all) that makes this house stand out.

Just look at this place. It’s a rave-ready house. It’s even got a bar for drink service during home concerts… if that’s what you are supposed to do with this area (what else would it be for?):

I can just hear the former homeowners now:

“No honey, we’re not going to the concert. We’ve got a concert at home.”

There’s apparently even a slide from the main level down to the basement, and at this point, I want to meet and talk to the people that formerly owned this home. How could they make this their dream home – equipped and ready to host intimate concerts – and then just place it on the market?

The home is so zany and ridiculous that it found itself featured on the must-follow social media account of ZillowGoneWild. You can scroll through and see some more pictures of the home in the post below:

And obviously, I can’t cover this Ohio home – and plug in the ZillowGoneWild post about it -without letting you know what people online were saying about the house with a basement that doubles as a concert venue:

“For the guy who always says, ‘Let’s get the band back together.'”

“I’d have the best live band karaoke parties with this house.”

“Gray walls in the front. Recording studio in the back.”

“I’ve always wanted a beautiful suburban home on top of my nightclub and recording studio.”

“I went through a whole RANGE of emotions on this one. From casual admiration, to what’s the big deal? To hold up, is that a slide? To oh geez… enter sex dungeon, to waaait… okay, to hell yeah, that’s awesome!”

“In da club, we all fam. Because we live here, in da club. Our house is da club.”

Any takers?
