I’ll take my next paycheck in 250s, please!
Congressman Joe Wilson from South Carolina is the guy best known for shouting “You lie!” at Barack Obama back in 2009, and now his name is back out there for another hilarious statement, this time in the form of proposing the $250 bill featuring the face of our fearless leader, Donald J. Trump.
If a $250 bill doesn’t seem familiar to you, that’s because it doesn’t exist. So not only would it be a brand new US Currency value, it would be featuring Trump’s mug that we all know and love. Well, maybe not all love… but enough people love to secure him a landslide victory over Kamala Harris in last the presidential election.
His reasoning for this idea was to commemorate America’s 250th birthday coming up in 2026, and I have to say, I think it is just a fabulous way to celebrate.
It’s introduced by Joe Wilson as the “Most valuable bill for the most valuable president,” which yes, 250 would be the highest in cash compared to the bills we have now, but I’m not too sure how much people really have a need for a bill that high to be burning a hole in your wallet. He tied the bill to what he calls “Bidenflation,” saying the economy has gotten so bad under Joe Biden that Americans have to carry around more cash-so why not make a new one with Trump on it? But it didn’t take long for people to point out the issue that US law prohibits living people being featured on currency, so I guess this bill would be the one time exception to the rule.
The bill, formally titled as the “Donald J. Trump $250 Bill Act” was immediately met with a mix of praise and mockery from both sides of America. Trump supporters love the idea of course, while Democrats are most definitely losing their minds over it:
I suppose. The mugshot would be better.

Why not make it a $1 trillion dollar bill, print 36 of them and pay off the debt immediately pic.twitter.com/ckTvJtlRiT

And many are designing the perfect bill, deciding which trump face would be the best for the bill:

Full color would be sick!

$250 dollars sounds good, make sure they place this on the back of the bill! pic.twitter.com/obOyYflohX

Of course, there is lots of backlash that Congressmen are even spending time on something like, since there are many other issues far more important that should be being discussed. And, theyre not exactly wrong.
Lots of comments are about this:
“Better to focus on fixing economy not printing new money with different pictures. This makes no sense.”
“Do you not realize that printing money causes inflation?”
“Would be cool to have one, but not high on the list for importance.”
But this isn’t even the first time Republican lawmakers have tried to mark Trump’s legacy. Just last month, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida introduced a bill to add Trump’s face to Mount Rushmore, maybe looking something like this:
Trump belongs on Mount Rushmore…!

Let’s be real… these things have no chance of passing, and really make no sense. Plus, like I said earlier, we have much bigger fish to fry int he United States government. But regardless, we look down on our bills today, on the rare occasion that most of us even use cash, and we generally don’t think twice about the faces on it. However, it would certainly be a much different story if it was Donald Trump.
But at the off chance the law does get pushed through, I’m heading straight to the bank-and twitter, just to see how the internet implodes. Personally I love the idea of watching hyper-woke bozos burning their own money because it has Trump’s face on it… and you know they’re crazy enough to do it, too.
This guy says it perfectly:
