Given the political tension between President Donald Trump and the United States of America, and Canadian Prime Minister, the raging socialist, Justin Trudeau (has he resigned yet?) it’s become pretty common in the past couple weeks for Canadian hockey fans to boo during the “Star Spangled Banner” whenever an American NHL team is playing up north.
Of course, American fans have returned the favor at home.
But with the 4 Nations Face Off underway, hosted at Montreal’s Bell Centre, Canadian fans booed Team USA ahead of their opening match against Finland.
Needless to say, Matthew Tkachuk didn’t like it:

Team USA and Team Canada are facing off for the first time in 9 years… it’s gonna be ELECTRIC. There’s no bigger rivalry in international hockey than Team USA and Team Canada… it’s the kinda game that players dream about, and unfortunately with the way the NHL works, it’s just not all that common to get the best of the best out there… hence the 9 year hiatus.
Matthew and Brady Tkachuk are taking on Canadian legends like Sydney Crosby, Connor McDavid, and Nathan McKinnon… just stacked down the middle of the ice. Team USA has arguably the best goalie in the league right now in Connor Hellebuyck, and you could argue the defense is the best they’ve had in a long time.
UFC legend George St. Pierre was on hand to introduce Team Canada, and when it was time for the American national anthem, the boos were back. Even though fans were asked not to before the first note.

Of course, the irony is they’re booing because of President Trump, meanwhile their PM is so hated by his own people that he’s quitting the job. That’s rich… The thing is… Americans love Canada, it’s a great country and we’re just sad to see what a socialist, woke, clown show it’s become. It’s kinda like when your little brother is dating an absolute b*tch and you just wanna smack him in the head. That’s how we feel about Canada right now.
