I’ll go ahead and get this joke out of the way… this guy was pissed off.
When it comes to manners and having common decency, the public bathroom is basically a battleground. A debate is now swirling online, and it all revolves around the question that the prolific playwright William Shakespeare first posed in Hamlet: to flush or not to flush. THAT is the question that is at the center of this TikTok-born controversy.
Here’s what we know: a trucker stopped at a truck stop in Post Falls, Idaho and went to do his business in one of the facility’s urinals. Apparently at this particular location, there’s a bathroom attendant that keeps a close eye on all those who pass through… kind of like a bathroom troll. I don’t know about you, but other than some bathroom attendants posting up in some bar restrooms I’ve been to, I’ve never seen a worker closely monitoring – and enforcing – unwritten bathroom rules like this guy.
After the trucker leaves the bathroom, a man straight up looking like the “Ghost of Christmas Truck Stop” comes marching out, seething with rage because the truck driver apparently didn’t flush after he used the urinal. The trucker got his phone out (that’s as good as self defense nowadays) to record what the older bathroom attendant had to say:
“He came into my bathroom, he pissed and he did not f**king flush. He’s a f**king piece of sh*t. I’m the one that has to clean your f**king messes. If you don’t like it, if you ever come back here again, I’ll have the state patrol here waiting for you.”
DAMN.
Now in the trucker’s defense, most places have entered into the automatic flush era of public bathroom technology, however he also confessed that the place was absolutely disgusting and he didn’t want to touch anything:
“I appreciate you looking out, I didn’t even try it was the dirtiest bathroom I’ve seen I didn’t touch a thing.”
And you know the trucker has seen some dirty bathrooms…
Regardless of the reason, the bathroom attendant wasn’t taking any excuses, and he absolutely lit into the non-flusher.

So was the bathroom attendant in the right? Or was that all a little bit of an overreaction?
The video has already garnered over 225, 000 views, and certainly hasn’t gone the way the trucker might’ve thought it would go. But TikTok users are currently divided on the “to flush or not to flush” argument. Many are siding with the old man and saying that it’s the least the guy could do to make the bathroom attendant’s job even the slightest bit easier:
“I’m with the old man.. its not hard to flush.”
“Agreed. People who don’t flush are lazy and trash.”
“Team flush after yourself.”
“Who doesn’t flush after using the toilet?”
“I completely understand that old man.”
“Show’s the amount of respect most of the youngsters have nowadays. Imagine what the next generation is gonna look like.”
“That man ain’t wrong… you’ve gotta flush.”
“I’m on unc’s side on this one.”
“Flush the toilet… who likes to go into a dirty bathroom these guys work hard to keep it clean?”
On the flip side though, there are plenty of guys (I’m assuming females don’t really care to interject in this online debate) that are claiming it’s not that big of a deal to skip on flushing a urinal. It’s not like the attendant has to clean anything up, and assuming the next guy flushes… no harm, no foul… right? They also thought bringing the police into it was hysterical:
“Guys… it was a urinal.”
“Old people are so miserable. It’s not a big deal. I mean if you took a massive poop I could see the issue.”
“Ya it’s easy to flush… but can you imagine telling state police why are we here?”
“He checks every single time.”
“I can only imagine how that call to state patrol would go.”
“Most people get accustomed to auto flush urinals.”
I got 20 years in prison for not flushing a toilet you guys. This is serious.”
“Good grief! I’m a retired janitor that worked in a bar. He’d better look for another line of work.”
So… what say you? Is the trucker out of line? Or should the old man cool it down or find a new job?
