Sydney Sweeney Sets The Internet Ablaze Eating A Pickle For New Super Bowl Ad

Sydney Sweeney continues to be a scene stealer.

If you’ve never seen the movie When Harry Met Sally, I’m not sure what you are doing with your life. It’s a comedy classic, and delivered one of the most memorable scenes in the history of cinema. As of right now, there’s no sequel movie starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan heading to the big screen (that we know of). But the beloved actor and actress did decide to get back together to help Hellman’s Mayonnaise for this year’s Super Bowl.

For those that haven’t seen the movie, there’s one particular scene that has lived on – and will live on – forever. That my friends is the “I’ll Have What She’s Having” moment in the movie, where Harry and Sally are sitting down in Katz’s Deli for a bite to eat and… well this happens:

Probably one of the most recognizable moments in romantic comedy history.

The pair ultimately decided that it wouldn’t hurt to have a reunion of sorts in order to help promote Hellman’s Mayonnaise. They obviously didn’t want to do a disservice to their beloved movie, but at the same time, Crystal and Ryan thought it would be great to have a little fun with the scene that no one will ever forget. And to modernize it a bit, they included one of the hottest names in all of Hollywood.

Crystal and Ryan “ran it back” in this Hellman’s Super Bowl commercial, which is titled “When Sally Met Hellmann’s.” The premise is much of the same, but with a couple of twists. Crystal and Ryan are sitting in a diner, grabbing a bite to eat. This time, it’s the Hellman’s mayo added on to the sandwich that fosters the lively, erotic reaction from Meg Ryan.

And the hilarious “I’ll have what she’s having” line is given by none other than Sydney Sweeney:

Sydney Sweeney’s appearance at the very end almost gives you whiplash, does it not?

I’m sitting here wondering why they didn’t expand the 27-year-old’s role in the Super Bowl commercial, but then again, she still made a big impact in the ad spot even with her limited screen time. She was undoubtedly the perfect choice to deliver the line of “I’ll have what she’s having.” Hellman’s mayonnaise knew exactly what they were doing.

And Sweeney gave Hellman’s a bit of a boost today when she posted a series of photos and videos about her role in the advertisement that will air during the “Big Game.” I’ve got a feeling that a lot of Super Bowl parties will come to a screeching halt when this one pops up on the screen.

Sydney Sweeney kind of already got that response going with her Instagram post, which has been liked over 825,000 times. Sharing some behind the scenes clips and photos, she posed in front of the iconic Katz’s Deli and shared the advertisement she’s a part of as well as a picture of her and Billy Crystal. All of those were pretty run of the mill and expected for a post that’s supporting an upcoming Super Bowl commercial.

However, it seems like she broke the internet – as she often does – by doing a couple of additional things and posting them along with the other photos and videos. Sweeney held up a big thing of salami, and she bit into a pickle… and all of the internet that simply can’t get their mind out of the gutter proceeded to lose their mind:

Would you be interested in seeing what the internet had to say about the fourth slide of the post above? If so, prepare to be overwhelmed by desperation:

“I just fell on my knees at Walmart.”

C’mon Syd not just the tip.”

“4th slide could’ve been us.”

“Looks like you’re really good at eating pickles.”

“Wish I was that pickle haha”

“Hey Sydney, sit on my face and let me die from oxygen deprivation.”

“Even though I don’t like mayonnaise, I love you Sydney.”

“So you’re telling me she loves pickles?”

“I left my family for you.”

“Hot girls eat pickles.”

“Why couldn’t Sydney take Meg’s spot?”

“Just here to see the pickle comments.”

There were plenty of them…

But hey, good advertising gets people talking… well done, Hellman’s.
