Post Malone & Shane Gillis Go Full Dad Mode For “Big Men On The Cul-De-Sac” Bud Light Super Bowl Commercial

Bud Light

People, I think Bud Light is.... back? Shane Gillis and Post Malone have swapped their microphones and tour schedules for tall white socks and dad sneakers. They've gone full dad mode for the Bud Light Super Bowl commercial. Since Bud Light took a massive hit after the marketing choice to partner transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney in a campaign in March of 2023, and then followed it up by essentially calling their fanbase "fratty and out of touch," they've slowly been rebuilding their name and reputation. Given that the partnership was believed to cost Anheuser-Busch InBev over $1.4 billion in sales, they ensure that any campaign moving forward aligns with their demographic and gets them back on the rails. Since the scandal, one of the company's best moves was to sign on country and pop star Post Malone and comedian Shane Gillis as brand ambassadors, as well as NFL legend, Peyton Manning. Country music? Football? Comedy? Screams beer drinker to me. Gillis has starred in commercials for the beverage company before, leaving fans in a fit of laughter with his “Welcome Back to College Football” ad. Malone constantly promotes the product as he performs on stage, even having Bud Light as the sponsor for the "Bud Light Backyard" concert series where Malone will take the stage. The marketing department at Bud Light struck gold when they came up with the idea to feature Gillis and Malone in a Super Bowl commercial. Last week, they released a teaser of the ad, highlighting the duo walking up to a "house party" decked out in dad attire—you know, polos tucked into jorts, tall white socks, phone belt clips—the whole get-up. The two look into the front door security camera, begging to be let in. They go back and forth, shouting, “C’mon!” (which is very reminiscent of the “Wazzzup!” featured in their older ads), as Gillis holds a 30-rack of Bud Light. https://twitter.com/budlight/status/1882428502487838849?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1882428502487838849%7Ctwgr%5Ebb78dc38ebc49e6281abc127e39bc974f658274f%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2025%2F01%2F23%2Fbud-light-taps-post-malone-shane-gillis-for-new-super-bowl-commercial-teaser%2F The full commercial dropped today, as the duo represents the "Big Men On The Cul-De-Sac." The commercial opens with Malone and Gillis sitting in the driveway, discussing their plans for the following day. Malone suggests they go fishing, but Gillis has a colonoscopy and quickly rejects Malone's idea. You thought Dad Mode was activated from the opening sentence. Oh, buckle up, because they are just getting started... The two receive a visit from their neighbor, who requests their help because he threw a lame party. The next scene cuts to the "Big Men On The Cul-De-Sac" in action, busting down the white picket fence between properties on a lawn mower with leaf blowers in hand. They quickly load up the blowers with Bud Lights and begin shooting them off toward the neighbors' front doors as an invitation to the party. "Launch, launch. These beers are a metaphor for an invitation."  Gillis says into the camera, which is followed up by Malone noting it's time for a: "Cul-De-Sac party." Soon, the whole neighborhood is gathered, bringing all the fixings for a good party, such as Jell-O, grills, lawn chairs, and more. As the neighbors gather around Gillis' lawn mower, which smokes meat (I never knew I needed one of these?)., admiring the machine, Peyton Manning appears in awe of the beauty before him. Ultimately, the cul-de-sac boys saved the day, yelling at the neighbors to get off a boat because HOA was already after him. Gillis and Malone are the ultimate dads and THE "Big Men On The Cul-De-Sac" for this stellar ad. Bud Light, you knocked this one out of the park. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7qbswwBCDo
