Chiefs Hunt family

Kansas City Chiefs fatigue has set in all across the NFL. We should all be so grateful to witness greatness at such a high level, am I right? Instead, we’re all complaining that the Kansas City Chiefs have once again run through the postseason, winning an AFC Championship and punching a ticket to their third straight Super Bowl. They are the first team ever in the history of the NFL to have a chance to three-peat as Super Bowl champs. I’ll speak for all the other football fans and say we are so happy for them (*cough* sarcasm *cough*). Once again, Mahomes and the Chiefs faced off against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the postseason with the season on the line. Nearly all of America was rooting for Buffalo, which means there are a lot of Americans that are upset the Chiefs pulled off the win 32 to 29. Kansas City was able to run out the clock after Allen and the Bills were unable to drive down the field and score, and now we've got a Super Bowl matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. How is it that the Chiefs just keep making these runs to the postseason, you might be asking? You're probably aware that there’s a theory that the Chiefs get a little extra help from the referees, or at the very least, it seems like Kansas City benefits from some very important calls. Many people draw it up as the Kansas City being a big money maker (especially with Taylor Swift attached), thus the NFL finding ways to make sure they're reaching the Super Bowl. If you ask the wife of Chiefs Owner Clark Hunt, she'd tell you that Kansas City has gotten where they've gotten and experienced success at such a high level because of their faith. Not just in each other and the team and coaches that have been assembled... Tavia Hunt is talking about faith in God. She took some time yesterday to reflect on the Chiefs making it to their third Super Bowl in a row (and their fifth since 2020) and shared this message on Instagram: "Overwhelmed. That’s the word that comes to mind when we reflect on the lavish grace, favor, and faithfulness of God. I’ve said it before: I don’t think God cares about football, but He cares deeply about people. In 2012, we were broken - winning only two games and facing an unimaginable tragedy. It was a humbling, desperate season, and we had nowhere to turn but to God. That brokenness brought us to total dependence on the One who holds it all. We began praying 1 Chronicles 4:10 and committing the team to the Lord. Shortly after, Clark hired Andy Reid, and God brought the Reids to Kansas City at just the right time. The Chiefs hadn’t been to a Super Bowl in 50 years, and the closest we got was losing to the Bills in the AFC Championship in 1993." For those that might not be great at memorizing parts of the Bible, the verse that she referenced had to do with a prayer to God that asked for favor, influence and protection. And just like how the story goes in the Bible, it appears that God granted those things to the owners of the Kansas City Chiefs. Tavia went on to explain all of the things that the organization has been blessed with over the past 10 years, and also made sure to combat claims that Kansas City is doing what their doing because of "black magic" and favoritism by the NFL and the referees: "What Clark, Andy, Brett Veach, Mark Donovan have built over the past decade is more than a football team. It’s a culture grounded in winning with character, honoring tradition, inspiring our fans and uniting and uplifting our community. This journey is about walking alongside people we love and respect, who inspire fans, unite Kansas City, and honor God through their actions. By God’s grace we’ve had success, but it’s not 'black magic' or referee favoritism (look at the stats on this) - it’s lots of hard work, belief, and purpose. Patrick Mahomes leads with humility and puts God first. Marcellus Casey, our team chaplain, pours into players and their families through weekly Bible studies and prayer. Many of our players - Drew Tranquil, Harrison Butker, Chris Jones, Nick Bolton, Trey Smith and more - openly share their faith, lifting each other up on and off the field." Tavia makes a fair argument. And she wasn't done there. It appears that she ran out of space in her caption for the post and had to continue and conclude her thoughts in the post itself. If you scroll through a number of the pictures included in what she shared to Instagram, you'll see that Tavia Hunt also mentioned a prophecy fulfilled, and thanked God for all he was doing in the world and through their organization: "In 2019, we learned of a prophecy from Bob Jones, who wrote that when the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl, it would be a sign of end time revival. Since that victory, we've witnessed incredible revival across this country and the world. College and NFL players are boldly proclaiming their faith, and there is incredible revival happening on college campuses. God is on the move, life is short and we know that we are to use this platform for His glory. Time are uncertain, but one thing remains true: Jesus saves, and we all need more of Him. In this historic moment, let's not miss the person who changed history and gained the ultimate victory - the one Jesus won for us on the cross. Thanks be to God for all that He's done and continues to do. To God be the glory!" https://www.instagram.com/p/DFWi5i6tcDa/?img_index=8
