Grab the tissues. Social media can be filled with a lot of nonsense or keyboard warriors ready to annihilate creators with their words, but while there is evil on social media, there is also a lot of good. Social media can change someone's life, which we see a lot in the music industry. It's a powerful discovery tool. Social media is also a great way to spread some love to those going through hard times, and if you're on the right side, it can be a positive and uplifting space. Since the TikTok ban (which was comically short) has been removed, this has to be one of the best videos I've seen on the app, and this story highlights the positive side of social media. A TikTok user named Cole ran across an account of an older gentleman who creates a video where he shares words of wisdom from his shop. The man who owns the page, TroyColley203, describes his content as: "Just an old guy in my shop, hoping to help just 1 person with my thoughts." However, the platform was not pushing his content out, leaving his views and engagement very low. While many creators get few views, something about this man stood out to this user. Cole shared a video of his page and asked people to check it out and follow him if it resonated with them. "I just found this old man who is putting so much effort into his videos but getting no views. Can we help him?"

Three days after Cole posted the video highlighting Troy's channel, the video gained over 4 million likes. Most importantly, viewers loved his content, and he's now gained 1 million followers, with many of his videos having millions of views. The public fell in love with this man and his weekly "shop thoughts" segment, where he spills his heart out to the world in his videos. It's the most wholesome content. Troy posted a heartwarming video in which he expressed his gratitude for the support he's received and noted that he never thought he would go viral. "Welcome back to my shop. I am glad to see you. I have had an amazing 24 hours on TikTok. I never dreamed, I never believed, it never even crossed my mind that my shop thoughts would go viral.  I have so many feelings about it. I'm a little scared, I'm happy, I'm baffled. I don't actually know what to think, but I know, folks, that I'm honored. Thank you all for your support, for your likes, and for your hearts, and for your comments." Troy then takes the time to thank Cole from the bottom of his heart for pushing his profile out to the public. "I especially want to thank Cole, who blessed me for posting my video on his TikTok. Cole, you're forever going to be in my heart. I am blessed.  To those chosen to follow me, thank you so much. To those who have commented that I remind them of their grandpa or their dad, I'm so honored that you would think of me that way. To those who commented about their struggles and the tough things that they are going through, I pray for you and wish the best for you. I want you to know that I know it's tough, but so are you. Thank you, guys. I really appreciate it. You know what? I'll catch you in the shop next Friday. Much love."

Who is cutting onions? Talk about a story that warms your heart. Troy's videos are comforting and uplifting, and if anyone deserves to have these viral moments, it's this man. Also, Troy, your shop is sick. The "A man's home is his castle. But his garage is his sanctuary" sign is one of the best signs I have seen on display in a long time. Check out some of the heartwarming comments left on his and Cole's video: "Troy the legend." "Made the right person famous." "Hard work pays off!" "This is someone's dad, someone's grandpa." "Whenever people say social media is all bad, I think of moments like this. Scrolling past a human, changing another human’s life with a simple post. You rock." "You just changed this guy's life." "He's adorable! Following!" "His camera, his setup, and his lighting are all high quality. Deserves to be famous." "I love when TikTok is used for good." "I cried watching this." "Thank you for welcoming us to your shop!" I don't know about y'all, but I will be tuning in every Friday from here on out to hear more of his "shop thoughts."
