Rogan has purposely avoided stating any sort of political affiliation as he's risen in his media career. Prior to 2020, it did seem as though the podcaster leaned more on the Democratic side. He sorta of (but not really) endorsed Bernie Sanders a while back. However, in the past couple of years, Joe Rogan has seemed to move towards the middle of the aisle - and one could make an argument that he helped out the Republican Party by interviewing JD Vance and Donald Trump on his podcast prior to the 2024 Election (he invited Kamala Harris to join the show but she declined). One could also argue that the Democratic Party has moved even further left in recent years, pushing more moderate Democrats into what seems like the Republican side of the spectrum. Folks like Bill Maher have made this argument. Though there have been a lot of comments accusing Joe Rogan of "back pedaling" and "trying to keep both sides happy" with his "I'm an American" political perspective, there's been just as many people share they feel the same way when it comes to politics: "Same. I don’t understand while people feel the need to pick a side to label themselves." "Maybe now that Joe said it, America will figure it out!" "The wildest part is people will hate and disagree with Rogan here even though that’s the normal view in politics across so much of the world." "This is why we need Joe Rogan." "That’s most of America. I believe we are a little of both parties."
