![Golf Cart Carrying Ohio State Coach Ryan Day Slammed Into A Wall Right After They Won The National Championship]()
![Ryan Day Ohio State]()
It doesn't get any more embarrassing than this.
The Ohio State Buckeyes may have won last night, but the woman driving the golf cart in this now viral video lost big time. She'll never be trusted to drive a cart of any size (especially a long one like this) ever again. It has to be the most damage I've ever seen done to a golf cart at such a low speed.
If you are confused as to why Ohio State head coach Ryan Day was being driven around the underbelly of Mercedes-Benz Stadium in a golf cart, I'll do my best to set the scene. The Buckeyes had won the College Football Playoff Championship game shortly before all this took place. It was a somewhat competitive game, but ultimately, Ohio State took down the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 34 to 23.

Winning the game is really just the beginning of the night. Afterwards, coaches and players are shuttled around to each and every media opportunity that the winner gets the honor of attending and participating in. And with Mercedes-Benz Stadium being such a large venue, the stadium's workers have golf carts for transport from one place to the next.
This woman - God bless her - was just trying to get Ryan Day and some of his players to wherever they were needing to go next. She was probably a little nervous knowing that she was sitting next to the coach that just won a national championship. So like the Fighting Irish, she let the moment get the best of her and absolutely embarrassed herself.
As a man nearby continuously shouted at Ryan Day telling him he "deserved the win," the woman first put the golf cart into reverse to try and clear enough room for the elongated vehicle to make the turn and head down the corridor. She thought she had backed up enough, though as she and everyone else in the cart soon found out... she had not.
The golf cart (specifically the front right wheel) slammed into the concrete wall, sending everyone that was riding for a loop and a belly laugh. Ohio State QB Will Howard - who was sitting behind the woman - thought the wreck was the funniest thing that's ever happened. And in his defense, it just might be.
Though the cart wasn't moving very fast during the turn, the collision did enough damage to render the golf cart useless afterwards. I'm no expert in golf cart repair, but I'd guess that the front axle is going to need some realigning. That golf cart undoubtedly needs a trip to the blue medical tent. The woman driver tried to power through, putting the cart back in reverse and turning the wheel with all of her might... but it was no use.
That golf cart was DONE.
So everyone that was aboard the cart ended up having to hoof it to the next presser, all while a very loud man that can't be seen in the clip persistently told Ryan Day this:
"Ryan Day, dude, you deserve it brother. You f**king deserve this!"

Look on his face kind of says it all...
It was great to see that everyone handled the awkward and embarrassing situation mostly with class. Ryan Day and the Buckeyes that were on the golf cart acted like getting into a minor wreck was just business as usual. Those concrete blocks must have been manufactured in Michigan the way they brought Day and his guys to a screeching halt (too soon? Come on they won the natty, who cares that Ryan Day can't beat Michigan?).
There was a lot of commentary online about the golf cart crash, as you might imagine. If you are a fan of Austin Powers, your mind probably went right to the iconic "three-point-turn" scene where Mike Myers' character found himself in a similar predicament.
